Pet Slots might be coming soon

I mean, we've been patiently for years already then they tease us and leave us hanging lol. I agree that a message like @(you need an account to see links) typed would help. But to keep saying "soon!" and then give 0 updates after that, It's not that farfetched or odd to see people excited and anxious? This is the most I've been excited over Neopets in a minute and a little message to update us can go a longer way over silence.

100% in agreement that a bit of transparency and rough estimates will go a long way.

On a positive note, its only been a little over a week since we've been introduced to Petra! There is still time and room for them to improve on the communication between players and staff. The last beta release notes has "As mentioned previously, we are going to be adding more pet slots! Stay tuned for a more in-depth announcement." So im sure we will be hearing whats going on with that sooner than later (right? x.x). I'm curious how they will go about it and what will make the announcement 'in-depth'. Until then though, i don't think they are just going to drop the pet slots in the mall randomly.

Fingers crossed we get some actual news soon or some timelines going.. This is also the most excited i've felt towards Neopets in a while. That said, i'm also feeling rather anxious and side-eyeing TNT like.. come on, any day will do..

I've been trying to figure out how to phrase this, but definitely agree that a rough timeline would go a long way. I get that it can be hard to estimate things like this, so maybe just any sort of communication. Also, they had to have known that uploading the NC Mall images would be found and lead to lots of discussion/speculation and then impatience?

I think a lot of the impatience would be quelled if they'd give a formal news update on tentative timeline. "We're targeting a release date of X for best case, but worst case, we think it might slip to Y. But please remember, there's a lot of other items requiring updates on the site and while we're trying to fast-track this one as we know it's very important to the community, there always remains some risk of competing priorities affecting our current estimates." People are a lot more chill in my experience with even disappointing news so long as there's actual news. It's being kept in the dark on stuff that spawns the bitching.

edit to add - though to be fair, this is the Neopets dot com player base we're talking about. I'm possibly giving everyone, including myself, way too much credit here that we can actually be mature about a missed timeline

True. I think them saying they are being more open with the community should also mean they should let people know an ETA for big updates like that.

I didn't read back through the thread, did anyone say anything about UC's by chance? Do we have any idea of when that's happening? I thought they were coming out around the same time, but now it sounds like they have separate timelines.

Looks to be separate timelines. I wouldn't be surprised if UCs actually come after the pet slots based off how TNT works on things.

not sure if you saw tree's "ticket answer from rico" that basically said they have no estimate on when they'll be released since they still seem to be working some stuff out... I would not hold your breath for a timeline moderately soon =/
