John Legend new Neopets Ambassador?

I was also very surprised with him being the first ambassador - thinking about it though... It seems to make sense!

They did mention a "virtual concert" before, so getting some big names would help, but also maybe they can just license their music for cheap/free? Additionally, maybe they're finally noticing that the majority of the fanbase/users are in the age range where they'd be interested in that music and have the disposable income to match.

This was my first thought too. It would make sense for him to be an ambassador if he's going to be performing at the concert. We'll see what happens!

Well that wasn't on my "Neopets Revitalization" bingo card, but here we are.

It is different from things tried before, and somehow that makes me a little hopeful? I do hope there's some smaller ambassadors who will receive some limelight for their dedication to Neo, too, because I know there's so much potential out there that is currently untapped and might connect very well with the community.

Here's hoping this goes well and smoothly and that there is more yet to come.

Also excited. Getting support from a big, big name in the music industry. A little taken aback by the reception from this community. I understand that not everyone listens to John Legend, but this has never happened in the history of Neopets, IIRC. This is what the game needs... More traffic which translates to more life pumped into the game.

it really seems to me like the neopets soft reboot is part of the nostalgia wave helmed by the new barbie movie, and who better than someone quirked up and terminally online like her to represent it?

it may have been more appropriate to get someone associated with gen z culture to be an ambassador, like billie eilish. she seems like she played/plays neopets lol.

but john legend is certainly a recognizable celebrity, and maybe he'll get the millennial crowd curious, despite the clash between his musical style and neopets.

I think it's a good publicity stunt to get a new fan / player base. Cool to see they got John.
