People like the OP are the reason the UC pet market are alive and well. Let’s go ahead and report every cool pet that comes along and then piss and moan about how they can’t find this or that pet anywhere. The stupidity of people never ceases to amaze and clearly hasn’t changed one bit.

I really hope the OP that released them all had been selling them and making money this whole time. UCs really help keep the site alive because whatever ~elite~ status is tied to them or whatever? The users that have multiple UCs always spend a ton of money on NC, as well.

It would be extremely messed up if that were the case, although it makes the most sense. Imagine selling out THAT many buyers because you were pissed off. Im not going to wish plentiful chargebacks on whoever was doing the selling if that’s not the case.. but if I were a buyer I’d want an explanation as to how my info got out there and leaked like that.

Youd be surprised how many big names players wind up with pets that I know were bought and sold on places like cK, it’s a very large majority, and most don’t even know; as it should be. Seamless sales, mutually beneficial for everyone as well as the community at large.

we did talk about doing something similar to what league does with their skins, so it's not out of the realm of possibility!

(This quote likely refers to League of Legends and the Chroma system it uses for palette swapped character skins, similar to how Dyeworks operates on Neopets. It is unclear just how this would relate to UCs at this stage)

I mentioned in the (you need an account to see links) thread, but I have long suspected that there would be a way to unconvert pets since I imagine it's as simple as a "converted: true/false" flag against each pet in the database (that's a total guess, but it stands to reason), and given Neopets track record of poor security I would have bet on there being an exploit to be able to manipulate that.

Looks like someone had already found that exploit, I'm just slightly disappointed that that someone wasn't me and it sounds like the exploit has been fixed now

They knew damn well it's possible but admitting so would trigger the wrath of the PC and a flood of related tickets. Grab some popcorn and watch the shit hit the fan. You played yourself, TNT.

This! They definitely knew there was a way and didn't admit it. This entire time, years of knowing! TNT gonna TNT.

What gets me is how this is all unfolding now, they basically have shot themselves in the foot by saying "it's impossible to unconvert a converted" when we all know that's not true anymore. The PC will eat TNT alive if they fully admit to this.

I believe it was confirmed that the OP of the thread who shared the list/exploit was an ex-employee of one of the big Neopets selling websites and wanted to ruin that company.
