Warning: What you are about to read is PURELY speculation and a matter of my crazy ass opinion, but hear me out. You have been warned...

I�m not going to sit here and tell you that I am well versed in pet trading culture, because I�m not. I know nothing of which pet is what tier, nor the intricate details of trading up or down, who is and isn�t blacklisted, common users widely hated by the rest of you, etc. This is mostly because I don�t give a flying ffffuuuccckkkk about it.

However, I am very much aware of the value associated with UC pets. I am also aware that the market for UC pets is drying up by the day. Between these pets being frozen, or finding permanent homes and never being up for adoption, there are few to go around. The few that DO exist are being tossed around like a bottle of liquor at a high school party, which speaks volumes to how few truly remain.

Let me introduce you to what I�m affectionately reffering to as The Fuckery.

On November 22nd, 2019 at around 7 AM Neopian time, a post was made on the Pound Chat by, who I am going to assume was a PC unknown person, (now being referred to as whistleblower), with a link to a petpage containing tons of �stuck� unconverted pets ranging from lowly T1 to god-like T10. Of course there was a frenzy, with all of the pets being adopted within a small time frame. Trading has exploded once again, yet no one is asking the real questions.

The whistleblower was frozen within an hour of the post, which leads me to believe that there is fuckery afoot. Epstein levels of fuckery.

�But, NeedAssistance, how could there possibly be any kind of fuckery?! Stuck pets in the pound are common! Someone just compiled a list and generously donated it to the Pound Chat! �

I knew you would think that, which is why I want to respond with a simple question: why on God�s green Earth would ANYONE throw the PC a bone and revitalize the PC with a shitload of new trading fodder?

It�s simple: Because these pets were never truly �stuck� to begin with. They were generated by Jump$tart in an effort to guage the reaction to a flood of new UCs entering Neopets and how wildly the market would fluctuate. They used this random, kind user as a whistleblower. THEY HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY, THEY JUST NEEDED TO DO A LITMUS TEST.

Jump$tart have finally figured out that the cash cow isn�t reskinned Neocash items. It has taken them 10 years, but the time is now. A year ago they hinted at adding a new pet slot, and that happened this week. Is it too coincidental, perhaps, that the same week they add the extra pet slot, a literal flood of UC pets hits the market?


What say you, fine denizens of clraik? Is this a major reach on my part?

It could make users more active or want to spend $ on NC to customize their new UC.

My only thing is I thought the "whistleblower" was frozen for things said to the 2 users who adopted 10+ UCs.

I think if they did all of this on purpose they would have just been released into the pound with no announcement. Just a pound surf free for all.

Agreed - if anything, they're worse for the bottom line because they sell less NC.

I don't think that works, especially with UCs, considering that you can only use a few items on them (Backgrounds and Foregrounds if I'm not mistaken). UCs can literally only wear like 3 or something items per pet

From what I can tell NC is mostly oriented onto non-UCs, if you check NCC most customizers and NCers don't have UCs.

Adding an extra pet slot could make people spend a bit more NC to customize their new pet but even so I don't think it would make that huge of a difference.

Jumpstart did not make those pets. Those pets have been UC pets for long before Jumpstart took over. I have several of them on my lost pets list where people got in the accounts for whatever reason over the years and I guess tried to transfer them or whatever.

Which is why I find it all too coincidental! There’s only so many reskinned items they can make people buy before they realize the money is found in the pet itself - not the clothes it wears! I smell a CONSPIRACY
