Pet Slots might be coming soon

I have come back from a hiatus to see this! Omg pleeeeeease tell me this is actually in the works. I also saw something about UCs??? I'm so lost on what's going on now lol

I think (you need an account to see links) is the last we heard of the UC plans, everything since then has just been brief affirmations that theyre working on it. No time frame has been specified for UC's returning. The latest pet slot update is in the (you need an account to see links), its not ready but theyre working on it now!

I am not a huge fan of this concept... making pets unlimited or making it a premium thing to have as many pets as you want would ruin the appeal of having pets. The cool part was only being able to have 4 (now 5, I guess, grumble), and having to choose which ones you truly wanted. If that becomes unlimited... there is hardly any meaning left.

I kind of see where youre coming from, but I think neopets as a business has to make money and that money comes from people customising their pets. having a low cap on the number of pets doesnt make sense from that standpoint. But nobody needs to get more pets if they don't want more pets, its just nice to have the option for those who want it

I agree with @(you need an account to see links). If people don't want to use the 13/20 pets slots, then just don't pay for them when they enter the NC mall.

The option is most definitely a step in the right direction though since pet slots have been something users have been asking more of for a while now.

Didn't they say they were going to fix the customization issue before NC Pet Slots? Or was that before NC UCs?

If the latter, I want it to be so, but not gonna get my hopes too high!

I believe they did mention that they would fix customization before pet slots were released. And I do really hope that that's the reason for the maintenance. I've been itching to put my pets in some autumn/Halloween customs, but I just cannot be bothered to deal with the customization page, ugh. As much as I'd like more pet slots, I don't really care to buy them if I won't even be able to easily customize the pets I'd be adding to my account.

I'm honestly just impressed and a little thankful that we got a heads up on maintenance instead of it just suddenly happening.
That said, i reeeeally hope when they are finished we have working customization and pets slots.
