Make sure your account has a decent amount of avatars/stamps/games played/a gallery/shop, etc. You don't want an empty account and try to trade the UC. I've always had good luck doing it that way.
i've recently purchased an account and would like to trade the uc for another... after caching, what needs to be done next before publicly trying to trade my uc?

Pound Chat is not an easy place to ease into unfortunately. The community there is like the old BDC. They're a bunch of stuck up snobs who don't want people to get nice off-site traded UC's because they're jealous, so they report anything that looks the slightest bit suspicious, and even report just for the fun of it. My recommendation is, as misha mentioned, have a somewhat decent collection, make sure ALL of your pets are cached, and don't post too often to start.

i'm working on those as we speak. lucky for me there was already a decent number of trophies on the account when i got it so all i worry about is the avatar count and stamps. thank you both for your input!
my best advice:
Dont go on the PC, don't trade your pet.
If you do so, be ready for trail and error until you figure out a technique that best suits you. I always suggest starting off with low end pets on anonymous accounts to "practice" transitioning pets into the PC.
I used to PM people offers after everything was cached and my account looked legit.... But. That was once upon a long time ago. Doubt that would fly by now....
