It'd be nice if we had color options for the clraik ranks (maybe similarly to the vip bars). It's already redundant that there's two rank indicators anyway (a userbar and a reputation bar which are effectively the same). It really limits the potential of bar stacking for people who dont like blue, green, deep turquoise or black.

The userbar showing your Rank and your rep bar is not the same at all?
I would say the black and gold master bar would be the only one that maybe can have changing colour. That would mean it is the ultimate goal to work for. I like the fact that the others are set colours.



It would be cool if we can have like on the neopets chats have premade setup for out posts. Like if my posts could always be in brown. I don't know maybe that would make the forum look messy

If a similar concept to NeoHTML font effects is implemented, please include the option to hide them as well. (Disabling text effects doesn't do the trick.) Personally, I'm not a fan of how inconsistent customized text makes posts/the forum look. Some users are already currently using light-colored fonts for their posts, and as I'm a heathen who uses the default light theme, I find their posts difficult to read.

I can't recall if this was brought up here or on the Discord but I know this was a discussion thag was had before. Its been a while so someone please correct me if I am wrong. The set colours for the rank bars do help in distinguishing members. This could help when it comes to aspects of forum like the trades section. Also if the basic rank bars had custom colours what would be the perk of the VIP bar? Just playing devils advocate. Also the rep bars and rank bars are quite different in what they represent. I agree that in the moment it can feel frustrating to say have a blue bar when it doesn't go with your intended theme but that can be some more motivation to move on up the ranks to a more desirable colour.

I agree. I think fixed colours for rank are very easy to distinguish without actually having to find what they mean if there ever was any confusion in the terminology of the ranks.

If I had to be picky, the official ck rank colour goes with very few other UBs and is very difficult to stack. But I still prefer it to being able to change colours of rank bars.

Agree. I'm partially sighted and can only use the light theme (can't read light text on a dark bg) so pale font colours on a light bg can be a nightmare.

That's obviously not what it was supposed to mean, but with your logic, why have any ranks at all?

As @(you need an account to see links) said I also remember staff saying that changing rank colors was out of question (I know there was a quote somewhere because this is asked from time to time but couldn't find the answer).

@(you need an account to see links) please don't feel discouraged, I think @(you need an account to see links) was referring more to Trades section. Unfortunately there are always some bad actors who come here to try and harm the community (I mean everyone knows Neopets can be toxic as hell), so ranks sometimes and I repeat SOMETIMES help to be wary (but hey we have had higher ranks turn on us before so yeah, sometimes rank doesn't mean anything).

On my personal experience, there are many newbies I enjoy talking to and like seeing then around, and I feel very thrilled too when they rank up! Everyone was a newbie once, believe me everyone felt what you feel (I did too).

I think what makes the difference it's participating or plainly lurking. If more users know someone, easier to engage with them.

Anyway, end of my rant. I really like this community because I know strives to grow and help. Some things we can do, some things not but let's try to support each other as whatever we can

Sorry, but I'd rather there be a clear UB telling someone's rank like the current system is set up over putting it under the avatar. For example, when people are trade banned, there's a clear UB for it assigned to the user. Would you rather this VERY important information be under the avatar in the smallest print possible, or a clear indicator letting you know this information?

Recently, we went through a brief phrase where newbies were mailing sellers interested in "buying", just to turn over any info the seller gave them to TNT. You're more likely to see this behavior from someone not as invested in the community as opposed to someone who's spent time ranking up. Though, as Darkskies has said, we have had a few bad actors of higher rank perform nefarious deeds, but that's far and between from a newbie user doing it.

But this really is moot though, Bat has said before that this wouldn't be considered and this line of reasoning currently is not convincing anyone for a potential change.

Little suggestion and not sure if the coding is possible. But you never know until you ask right!? So we have multiple threads that are collaborations with multiple users. The way the forum is now only 1 person (the creator/author) can update the OP. I was wondering if through the link of the Kudos of collaborators on an OP if those who are tagged via Kudos could also have access to edit the OP?

This may help when some users go on hiatus in keeping some of those more collaborative databases alive.
