That's a great idea! The top 50 avatar collector high scores are seemingly dominated by veterans and stamp collection cheaters. It'd be awesome to narrow that divide a bit.

It's one of the trophies that I want the most. The NeoBoard Avatar Collector trophy is so prestigious! The same gaggle of users keep pushing everybody out of the qualifying brackets each month. Since it doesn't look like the new Neopets team will be disqualifying them from scoring any time soon, our only hope is to beat them at their own game. A perk like that would be a better incentive to donate than a lot of the ones they've given us before!

I would literally spend all my Neopoints if there was a retired avatar perk. I would do absolutely anything for the Free Jhuidah avatar on my main.
I think the Coincidence avatar gifting enraged players with stamp avatars, though, so I don't know if they'll ever bring it back. I really, really, REALLY hope they do, though.

Just like the BC, if you get gold one week, you're banned for x weeks (don't remember how many lol)

I'd definitely prefer a disqualification for high scores that you've previously gotten. Perhaps not a permanent one, but something that gives others a fair shake at getting high scores as well. I doubt that'll happen, though. The new Neopets team doesn't seem willing to mess with the site's formula for better or worse.

I mean, theoretically... if they remove them and removed users every month from qualifiying.... then the AV would just be awarded to 50 new players every month and it wouldn't be as prestigious. The fact these users keep others out is what makes it prestigious, lol.

If they want to make it an actual leaderboard/competition then they'd add at least one avatar a month, but the way it stands it doesn't even make sense to have the leaderboard, there's so many retired avatars (plenty of which my main has, not really the point though) that will never be released again that there's no drive for new players to even try to get on the leaderboards...which makes them into a stagnant oasis of shitty elitists who think that they deserve prestige for gatekeeping...and no one deserves prestige for that.

More pet slots, retired avatars and retired site themes are what I would want to see, personally.
