Late to the game here but I agree about the World Challenges, those were so much fun!! I have to wonder how much is even possible at this point, the neostaff must be stretched thin enough as it is.
This was a cool idea from UC, I liked it. I also have some items that will be worth much more after this news.
But what I'm really looking forward to is the fix of the site and the worldwide challenges.

All WCs needed was an updated prize pool of sorts, that was about it. I hope they'll come back, but with the state games are in, that seems doubtful.

World Challenges are offline! This feature went offline during the September 2014 server transition. It is unknown when, or if, World Challenges will make a return. This also means WC map pieces cannot currently be redeemed.

"Dying shopping mall" is such an accurate term, especially with neopets pumping most of their effort into customization/the NC mall. Also has anyone seen the Mutant Nimmo art update? Atrocious
Can't believe it's almost been 7 years since the WC died. Wish there was an off-site alternative. Feels like we should unionize.. seize the means of neoproduction
