I was a big Dracula fan when I was younger and I remember picking this book up at a second-hand shop and was absolutely in love with the idea of a pet rabbit that was secretly a vampire.
It's such a cute series!
Basically, it's a story told from the POV of the pet dog about this rabbit the humans found around a theatre that was screening Dracula, so they named it Bunnicula. ~Weird~ vampire-like things start happening and the dog assumes it's the rabbit, but usually by the end of the book there's actually a normal explanation.

Anyway, I saw this garden decoration at the dollar store and the way the light caught the eyes immediately made me think of Bunnicula (I know the eyes are supposed to be red, but the store lights made it reflect more red than in person)
I asked my partner if they remembered the book and they had no idea what I was talking about, so I decided to pick up the bunny and paint him for my little balcony garden.
I used dollar store paint and old makeup brushes, but I thought he turned out so cute

and now he gets to chill in my garden

So adorable, I loved those books as a kid! This is such a great DIY idea.
@(you need an account to see links) Yeah they did a miniseries back in 2016, but it's very different from the books. There was also an animated movie adaptation from 1982!

I remember seeing these books on display at my library when I was a kid but I never read them haha.
Great work on the statue!
I LOVED these books in the 3rd grade. You did a great job on the decoration!
I remember being disappointed reading them as a kid because I wanted the bunny to be a real vampire, not however they ended up explaining it away. I would re-read them multiple times, hoping that the ending would change! lol
❤ thank you to hearts for my pumpkin, Lyrichord for my userbar, and Great White North for my snail ryu!
