Neopets lays off TNT Tally and TNT Willow

TNT Willow has announced that they (along with TNT Tally) have been laid off from TNT according to a personal announcement on the Discord.

Why pay actual fans of your game to represent your brand when you can hire influencers to pretend to like your game as they sit around looking vacantly at the camera while you fumble through go-nowhere presentations about features you'll just end up delaying for the millionth time? Ambassadors are free, and their influence over the herd is much more useful for pushing your message!

That is genuinely very sad. I actually liked Willow. I don't know much about Tally but that's just really sad too. What is TNT doing?

That sucks, I honestly really liked how Ivy would interact with people in discord and she has personally helped me through DM to help move along tickets where Alice was not budging. So I do feel pretty bad for her and hope it didn't hit too hard.

That's shitty, but not surprising. Nothing shitty from TNT surprises me anymore.

I wish I could say this was surprising, but given the current head of Neopets is literally a techbro this is just par for the course. They're going to continue pretending everything is peachy keen as they "usher in the new era of Neopets" while promising more and more things the (already minuscule -- remember, they only had one team member working on the daily quest bugs) team can't keep up with and then lay off your more public facing members.

Things are absolutely on fire in that office. And not in the good way.

Considering these staff members were in community roles, I'd say the ambassador program has made their roles redundant Yay free labour
