What do you think about UCs nowadays?

I stepped away from UCs. Whatever I have, they're all chillin' on semi-active mains but nothing on my legit main account. The PC is full of report-happy Karens and I don't wanna risk getting frozen just because some bitch is having a bad day (people already harass me about my converteds and I don't post too much on the boards anymore, I can't imagine a scenario with a mid to high tier UC).

That and what @(you need an account to see links) said, UCs aren't as cheap as they used to be. In the rare instance I do buy UCs, they're usually "bargain bin" shit I don't mind losing if something did happen.

It's a shame because I loved the old artwork--Greys looked depressed and droopy and Plushies looked floppy and huggable. They had a lot of charm, and that's something that was lost with the conversion.

But as for right now I'm happier buying NC. TNT's treatment of UCs after the conversion has always been questionable and until they change their attitude about it ( @(you need an account to see links) made a wonderful post) I probably won't dedicate too much of my time or money to the game as I did before.

They are a lot of trouble, I moved one during ucgate2019 and no one has noticed although I don't pc so there's that. I can't believe how much these scrubs want to look through everyones accounts despite annoying ass captchas. Plus I mean who the fuck cares who has what pets, if it wasn't stolen from you personally then fuck off, you don't know anything. Its 99.9% just shitty assumptions and tnt is lazy and just freezes but has no support for people who haven't even done anything wrong.

The only UC I really want is worth 300 dollar or something similar so I've just accepted I'll never own a UC

There is one pet I have wanted for years that I want to buy and move to my unlinked, unknown side, but I'm too afraid. I have never done anything illegit before. I keep ALMOST doing it, but then step back and CTRL+W at the last minute. Aside from this one site I found that claims to be safe, more than three times, I almost mailed Kylae about buying a pet from her.

I'm not too worried about the shitheads on the PC finding it (well, maybe, given that I remember the Purge Chat losers used to keep track of and report all UC's, and who knows, maybe they still do). I'm worried about TNT somehow noticing it even without their help, though I don't know how that works.

I love all UC's. There's only one I'd buy. But is it worth my main? No. I wouldn't do it unless I was 100% sure I wouldn't get caught, and even then, I'd wonder how long the pet would have to sit on my side until I was in the clear if someone DID report me, even for something else, and then TNT looked at all my accounts.

Honestly I�ve found that only AC/PC chatters harass others about ucs. other boards don�t really care because they�re not on neo for the pets/ don�t care for elitism. Maybe the NC chat does too but I don�t have experience with that.

I have been on every side of this issue in my long history with Neopets.

• As a legit player, I went inactive for lengthy periods of time to return and find my accounts were stolen and pillaged -- bonus points, this was done by people here I'm now friends with (this was many years ago during the "Wild West" days when actives were free range, and even if they weren't, my accounts would have flipped to "long, long ago" anyway)
• As a legit player I've had my personal pets I created and painted before ConversionGate questioned and pawed at by jealous other players
• As a legit player I chose random people to adopt some of my pets out to before I decided to quit because I felt then, and still feel now, that the whole "application" process is an exercise in getting your e-peen stroked
• As a cheater, I've bought and sold more UC's than I can count
• As a cheater, I maintain multiple accounts with multiple UC pets in various states of being in Neopets -- PC known, PC-sorta-known (sometimes offering "known" pets via mail only, not posting on boards much/at all), being totally a ghost
• As a cheater, I've had pet reversals where I feared I'd end up with no pet at all because somewhere, another cheater failed to integrate a UC successfully and a whole line of people now were paying the price

Until Neopets decides to either get rid of UC's or bring UC's back, nothing will change.

There will always be a UC market here and elsewhere. There will always be petty jerkholes who want your pets and resent that you have them, whether you've had them since 2006 because you created and painted them by hand, or you bought one from Kylae three months ago.

All you can do is make the smartest choice you can for what brings you joy, and don't be one of those bitter bitches who judges and covets others.

And yeah -- please, take all the advice UC sellers and UC gifters offer you when you come into possession of an unconverted pet. It doesn't matter if its name is Dream or Footfngs128_BuTtSnfFr01, there will be someone who has nothing better to do but try to tear you down.

The problem with the ncc is that some pcers are over there all time as well. Otherwise most ncers don't give a fuck. They are too busy with trading and dressing up their own pets.
