Let's think outside the box as a crowd, for once? I have not seen this posted anywhere. I wanted the numbers to shut everyone up in a few months from now but I think it's best if I explained this to everyone at clraik.

Neopets is not going to die from this recent "dupe exploit" from the Neopets' gawdawful migration from one network to another (which was done very badly since the day we learned it would take more than 2-3 full days as promised). Why it won't?

Luckily for everyone this exploit did not allow a single person to generate any item they wanted. The items duplicated will just decrease in value. That amazing item we all once knew to be as the Super Attack Pea (& MSPP/BGC) is now just that name and roughly 800,000 NP as of right now (goodbye rare avatar). Same goes for the other items massively duplicated.

This will balance out with other items, and if TNT is smart, they'd nerf the weapons that were duplicated by a lot. The BD is still broken, so there was nothing worth having in terms of equipment from the start. Let's all count on JumpStart to help fix the battledome...

I think the players crying and claiming to be quitting are just attention seeking whores. This forum as a whole does not care.

Nerf the SuAP, make new stamps and only have like 5 released, make a brand new incredibly rare item that gives and avatar. That's all TNT has to do, cancel out what happened with new stuff. TNT's lazy butt will have to do stuff but if they care about Neopets, which deep down they do, something will get done

People are going to moan and bitch at every corner. Neopets survived the conversion, the purge, the last dupe day, etc. I think we'll survive this too.

There are only two things they can do:

* Back up to a previous database.

This would get everyone mad. No way.
That beautiful pet you adopted yesterday, the stats you trained to your pet, and whatever would be affected.
Everyone would become crazy.

* Move on and balance things

As Joe said, nerf items, fix the things that are wrong.

With so many shit duplicated, even if they know which items are duplicated it would take them ages to fix every account. They're so many, and they don't have enough persons working on the website.

So, they'd have to create new shit, maybe retire the current items that were affected so they eventually get back their value at some point in the future.

I have about 20 of them, and i can use or sell them at pretty much any price I want, since they are only given out as random events. I also duped a shit load of other formerly rare, expensive items. Plenty of people duped training neggs, pbs, petpets, etc-so many items in the economy are now incredibly deflated. Of course neopets isn't dead yet-it might have another year or two. This past week has killed off their stocks. It's like an old man on life support-sure he's not dead-yet.

But they aren't showing the ones hidden in their SDBs, on shell accounts, on galleries, on shops...


Just like many of the people here. Show 25-75% of the duped items, and leave the left hidden from TNT so when they "freeze" everybody, they can take them out and sell them.
