question about selling NP

if i'm selling neopoints, can i sell from an active account to an active account directly? or is it necessary to put it on a shell account?

Anytime you sell np it's very risky. I suggest just putting it on a shell

You don't compromise an account if you just shovel it to a shell and give the buyer access. I suppose you could trade ETS from an active account, but it may look suspicious if you just send items worth millions of NP to an account you've never interacted before.

what if it's a temporary thing? i am quitting so i am selling what i have. do you still suggest shells?

I've sold NPs last year and used my Main Account. I've bought him a baby paintbrush and he made an offer on tp to get it. Then he put it into auctions where I've bet on.
I think that's risky but it works, he get the pb back on tp (a long way I know..xD)
If you sell a lot of neopoints there is ever a risk. It's more risky than selling a Neopet.
I've bought Neopoints few years ago to get all shells for the sea shell avatar. And we've did it similar.

what if the buyer added overpriced items in their shop that i buy? is that risky still? i know a lot of people do donation-type things in their shop.

It's the same buying something on auctions I think.

There’s a guide (you need an account to see links) with more depth than I can provide. I haven’t tested limits to see what flags and what doesn’t, but it’s relatively safe to transfer millions at one time as long as you wait 5+ days.
