What's going on here? I came across a 16 day old UC Royal Aisha. Have I missed something that let's you convert pets to UCs? What is this thing?

They've been doing replicas for some time now. If a pet gets reversed instead of undoing the whole trade chain they can offer you a new pet to be turned into a UC to replace the one you lost. They used to let you use a pound pet but now you need to create a brand new one if this ends up happening to you.

They stopped allowing pre-created pets (from the "pound") being used for replicas, but it was heavily abused into getting people RW/RN UCs so that was shut down. Hence now replicas can only be of newly created Neopets.

Yeah, that's been a thing for about a year now I believe. It's pretty great as it keeps from TNT having to reverse an entire chain and people lose out on pets they traded for.
Sadly RW/RN still don't have an option to save their chains.

How does a trade even get reversed?
The most common reason is the UC was taken from a breached accounts and then traded for xyz
1. Original owner returns to neopets and finds their account was hacked and/or emptied, makes a ticket
2. TNT goes down the chain and reverses trades.
3. Some people (the only documented one I remember reading about had 2 people) in the chain are given chances to make replicas depending on how they were affected.
