Hypercube, I watched it when I was 11 on TV and that shit about teleporting corpses that haunt you still makes me shiver these days.
Candyman and I Know What You Did Last Summer. I watched them as a child (under 7 years old, my first horror films) and though I've rewatched them as an adult and they definitely aren't scary now, I still get the creeps thinking about them because it's as if I'm a child again.
Not a horror movie but the end of the series Ashes to Ashes scared me so much the first time I watched it. I didn't sleep properly for several days afterwards.
There was a short Japanese movie called black haired girl / woman and sometimes when I'm at home alone, scenes from the movie pop up in my mind and i get scared XD
The first movie I ever remember giving me nightmares was the Gate. I was 3 and having nightmares of the phone melting and my friends turning into a bunch of little monsters with eyes in their hands. Every now and then I have dreams that my phone is fucking up and I think it's still from watching that movie when I was little.
final destiny 3 ruined horror movies for me pretty much my whole early teens/ late teens.
Riiiggghhhttt xD Just quite a few mishandlings of the film. I thought it had more potential but was a great plotline!
And yes Sinister is probably my #1 c:
A scary movie I was surprisingly impressed with was the Saw series. It actually followed a plot and general theme through the movies, it wasnt just some crazy guy tormenting people like Jason in the Friday the 13th movies... I enjoyed that.
Also, another good one: Nughtmare on Elm Street. Particularly the newer one. Bomb. Did very well, and a classic, solid story.
This made me think of the grudge xD
See I found those to be so out there, I couldnt get into it. Some of them okay sure, but many I was just like... no xD

not a horror movie technically, i guess, but requiem for a dream
i watched it when i was 15 and i wasnt prepared for it emotionally lmfao
I remember Dawn of the Dead really stuck with me throughout the years. I watched the movie as a kid and there was a scene where the main characters wife turned into a zombie and attacked them in the toilet. Spent the whole of next year staring at the washroom door imagining a zombie running through.
