I don't follow Weeekly too much (although they did catch my eye with their debut, (you need an account to see links)) but one of their members, Jihan, has a soft spot in my heart because prior to debuting, she is a huge kpop fan herself and a massive Loona fan/Orbit and when her bias shouted her out for her birthday or something she was sooo happy, it was adorable lol. Also they lost a member a bit ago and that's always tough for groups to go through!

Now that I think about it Weeekly kind of gives me After School vibes haha oops sorry for the tangent xD

Ah i see gotcha , I think there is are songs releasing everyday (just that is new or unknown bands that i never heard before) since there is the kpop list that updates , which i use it for daily post which stop when i went on hiatus xD haha.

I have vroom vroom in my playlist i heard it before i realized it was for the beyblade anime opening (and i went to add it into my list) . I have never heard of weekly before haha (i was thinking of weekly idol then i realized it was a group) .

Off track ~ spotfiy increases it's price to 10.98 , but the good thing is i can still buy it at 9.99 at 7-11 haha until it runs out.

I'm not into K-Pop really but I first found out about it when I was like 10 when my dad showed me a cute online forum called Cyworld (it doesnt exist anymore). Their currency was acorns and you had a little avatar that had a home and you could dress it up and customize the space.

Anyways, you could share videos on the forum and Pretty Girl by KARA was one that I happened upon on someones page

Are you a human being with feelings if you didn't get emotional over watching this??? 😭😭😭 I literally was so wibbly afterwards, couldn't keep my shit together! There's a lot of theorizing and speculation over what everything means and such, I'm not a super deep person in terms of analysis of meanings and themes but I did watch this video (has eng subs).



There was also some "controversy" over her original title (Love Wins - people thought it was too overlapping with lgbtq+ movement for using the same phrase) and some people even went as far to call this ableism/diminishing the struggles of disabled people but sometimes it's not that deep right 🙃

I find that her song's always gets targeted like the other one which people say its peado forgot which song it was.

I want to delve into genres outside of my own country, but is it actually going to be frowned upon if I make K/JPop inspired music/remixes..? I collect musical genres like Pokemon, and I enjoy the production levels most of their artists go to, but I don't want to appropriate anything, being I know this music is a cultural thing.

I don't think it's frowned upon so long as you're not idk, blatantly ripping off popular themes or genres without being open about your inspirations and such? I think there are a lot of international vocaloid producers for example, but for the most part everyone knows the history and origins of vocaloid, so you couldn't get away with claiming whatever you're doing is purely unique haha. but I think everyone has something new to bring to the table, so even though I have no stake in it, I'd love to hear what you got!
