Apparently I'm in a coma or something because I didn't even realize it's easter time

Easter (and Passover) are both based on the lunar calendar! So the date can jump around by over a month! March 31st is actually the earliest it can be. The Eastern Orthodox Easter is scheduled around something else and is also not a static date from my understanding.

I plan to hide some chocolate eggs tonight for my kids to wake up and find tomorrow morning 🥰 I also need to prepare their little baskets as well! Growing up my mom would make turkey, stuffing, etc.

Sadly she doesn't enjoy doing all that work anymore so I'm going to make a small chicken!
I baked a spring themed cake and hopefully I can get all my food made so I can bring my niece and nephew the Easter baskets I made for them as well 💖💖

We will have my bonus kiddo tonight to give him his basket and hang with him for a bit. Then tomorrow, to my parents' house for some ham and cheese sliders and deviled eggs hehe.

I don't think I've done anything Easter related since I was a child (and my mom's religion was a bit more on the forefront back then lol, so it really would have just been Easter mass xD) and nowadays as a holiday it means nothing to me.

So our Easter (I'm from Eastern Europe) this year is in about a month

Ohhh I see it now! Gregorian Calendar for the "west" so to speak, and still based off the moon, vs. Julian Calendar and the moon!

So here, Easter falls on the first Sunday after the Full Moon date, based on some calculations, that falls on or after March 21. If the Full Moon is on a Sunday, Easter is celebrated on the following Sunday. And of course there's a lunar calendar and church-lunar-calendar. ... This is more confusing that I thought!

I'm excited to celebrate tomorrow.

Drove a whole bunch of hours today for a short funeral service for my aunt. We didn't go through with the burial, my uncle couldn't do it. We went back to his house and had brats, I enjoyed talking to him and my cousins for a bit. I don't see them enough.
A bunch of deadlines and important stuff going on at work so I can't take days off so tomorrow I am going to do the most boring thing ever: rest and sleep before the workweek starts again. I hope. I need it. I hope everyone has a nice wonderful day tomorrow whether you celebrate or not.
