It's a concert via zoom, lol. That's what I am picturing. Like you have to rsvp and then log in at a specific time and enjoy the concert. That's my guess! Maybe that's how they will get some more $$, charge a set amount for the concert, low enough to entice people to join for avatar or trophy purposes.

Also RE: the 3D game because this is my field (tm). i REALLY hope they drop the whole realistic scenery aspect and stick to a vibrant cartoony style like the models. like c'mon the models don't even have fur it looks so out of place

The problem with outside investors, regardless of whether they are venture capitalists, private equity, or rich people who struck the lottery, is that they typically want returns on their investments. So what has World of Neopia, Inc. promised as collateral for the loans...? The site's intellectual property and source code itself makes the most sense, which means if this company fails to turn a profit - or takes on a massive amount of debt to try and "improve" things before realizing they can't pay it and filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy - then it could all be over. I highly doubt that a new mobile whateverrrrrr is going to recoup 4 million dollars in investments, so I'd really love to see a detailed plan on how they are investing their loans to maximize profits.

Doomposting a little, here - I'm no economist. While I'm glad Neopets seems to have people at the helm who are enthusiastic about it, enthusiasm doesn't always guarantee longevity.

That being said, I'm hoping beyond hope for it to succeed. 💜

$4mil for a company that has been "running on a deficit for the last 10 years" is nothing. The new changes proposed (e.g. this 3D game) and hiring new artists + devs is all good except that $4mil is going to be pay for like 1-2 years of their salary. Im very curious as to how Mr Dominic Law, our Harvard Business School 'genius' is going to make the numbers work on this one.

But look, Im glad theyre at least publicly acknowledging the desire of the people for KQ and Habitarium (clutching at straws here)

What I'm most curious about is the 3D game.
They seem to be betting most of their chips in that idea and even call it a Habitarium and Keyquest succesor but also a 3D World exploration? Sounds like too broad of an idea to be feasible and the history of Neo Apps hasn't been good at all.

I'm hopeful they will deliver, but also skeptical due to how many times they've promised stuff that never came true.

My biggest fear is that, now that Neopets is independent, as some just said, the new owner can just file for bankruptcy and that'd be it for Neo.
