Today Neopets made a post about Neocreation Week on facebook:



For those who aren't aware about neocreation week, it was an offsite event that awarded a comic con code last year, so it probably will award the code this year too. If you don't own the code, that's your chance

Actually no! Last year you could participate on social media without linking your Neo account and if you happened to win, they asked you to send your username either on the comments or via DM, so you could stay anonymous on Neo.
You might as well, create a fake account just for the sake of the contest and if you win, DM them your username, no one will know who you are in real life or in Neo.

And if that looks like too much of a hassle for a simple code, then you can just ignore it. The comic con code will only award a few items you can sell for profit and the 20th anniversary avatar (Which will be awarded to everyone on the actual bday of Neo).

I made a social media account just to enter last year, guess I can re-use that this year! No way I'm tying my real life accounts because I don't want friends knowing I still play.

They DMed this after the week ended:
"In order to mail your code and give you your extra reward, we will need your full name, Neopets Username, and mailing address."

Given that we've roundly established that a certain member of the Neopets team is lurking our forums in order to expose members of our community, sharing your Neopets username with them over a social network - even in private - is not a good idea. You'd better have a completely indiscernible alter-ego in this community, or they will find you. This has happened too many times for us to take this situation lightly.

That's absolutely terrifying, I wouldn't hand my information to some random social media person for a free code you can buy for $15 elsewhere

What do they even need your mailing address for? Was there a real life prize involved? Couldn't they just DM you the code? lol

I think they gave out keychains and stuff last year. They're probably planning on doing the same here.
