[NC] BF BGCs

Dumb question, would I be able to trade BF GBC's for Faerie Quest Cookies? Or do people not usually do that kind of trade because it takes up too many boxes? Would you get 2 cookies for one black friday capsule, or more than 2?

The last time I bought a significant amount of BF GBCs was before the Brazilian Cards were nerfed I haven’t bought many since then, but that’s mainly because I’m not a frequent NC trader and I already have hundreds of boxes to move my stuff around thanks to Trudy!

I did stack on FQCs tho!!

A few years ago you could buy NC Cards from Brazilian players at $11 (iirc) and they could be redeemed for 2K NC (because of the currency difference). I don’t know for how long that had being going on, but on December 2020 TNT announced they were going to nerf the cards to what they are now, $6 for 750 NC.

I remember a lot of people were very upset and many quit Neopets after that.

I'm probably more of a ~moderate~ spender, but I like picking up at least $50 worth and then just using them throughout the year. This year they are giving out up to 6 boxes if you buy them today.

Usually people have some pretty good box cap sales throughout the year when they get low on boxes, so I'd rather spend ~$1 and use it for 4:1 sales rather than spend $2 on a 2:1 sale. Also some people value them a bit higher because they give out good boxes, so sometimes you can get like a ~5 cap non-popular item for like ~3 caps etc

I agree! It seems like they're weighted a little heavier than normal gbcs.

I feel like if you do any trading whatsoever, you're always boxless, and getting the BFGBCs is the easiest way to quickly get more.

Yup, NC trading is the pits. 🥲 As someone who didn't have access to NC cards and used to live somewhere with a crappy exchange rate and had a lot of catching up to NC releases to do, the BF GBC sale was a huge boon.

I hate this. I really wish there was a way around this : ( It doesn't work out if you use a shoppy link from others? (I'm super oblivious, apologies)

Nah, my home country has a terrible exchange rate against most major Western currencies. I'm fortunate to have moved to a country where the exchange rate against the USD isn't as bad.

Most of the sellers are still there. They just had to accept the loss of a % of their buyers due to the nerf of the cards. Personally I don't buy from those people who charge $6 for a single card when I can get it from another seller for a whole $1 cheaper with a promo code you can use to get a slight discount. I'd rather pay $5 for a 750nc code than $6 to stretch my money

I don't know how you manage to not be boxless, I feel like you really don't get that many boxes from Trudy's or NC cards and if you do a big trade, you can easily use up a lot of boxes to get one big item!

I'm impressed that some people have so many boxes that it's difficult to make a dent in them.

some people will trade for only bfgbc because they need the boxes, but no, they're still just 1 cap
