I'm always confused by how a weak type matchup has the weaker type as the winner... like in what world would a water type beat grass? Cue the word "madness".

That's exactly what I did, because realistically that makes sense There was a couple where those two things overlapped for me, but realistically speaking...

Joining the crowd of voting mainly off of type matchups with a few popular votes if it's something where two of the same types are going against each other.

But I also kind of like how much simpler this year is! Last year, or honestly any game that has to do with fully evolved pokemon, I'd sit there over analyzing who'd win based on having better stats and potential move sets haha

I'm in the same boat but I've got mixed feelings! I picked Fuecoco because I thought most people really liked him and would choose him. But Chikorita is honestly one of my personal favorite starters.

oh i love Chikorita too, that was one of the hardest face offs for me!! I'm just so attached to Coco since SV ;o; I was also surprised because I thought he would take it based on being new & shiny + people voting in a type matchup way. It'll be fun to see what happens next!!

If Pikachu loses to Cyndaquil I'm going to be so upset Johto my favorite starters and Pikachu already has enough attentin and gets spammed everywhere without it needing to start being people's "favorite starter." Let the others have their time to shine!
