What is Neopets like these days?

Hi everyone,

Been a while since I've been on here and even longer since I've logged in to Neopets. Things look mostly the same as I remember but I'm curious about some things on there:

* How long does it take to earn 1 million NP playing legit and how long if you're cheating?
* How much does 1 million NP sell for (in USD)?
* Since Adobe Flash is mostly dead in the real world, do they still have a lot of Flash games or are they using something else now?
* What are some of the oldest accounts that you see playing today?
* Is the best way to earn NP still by getting good items in shop refreshes?
* Does autobuying rare items still get you frozen pretty quickly?

I'll probably have more questions but these are the first things that come to mind right now.

Oh, and if you answer, I'd be curious to know how long you have been playing Neopets for

I noticed that neopets did away with maps, but this makes it IMPOSSIBLE to navigate. Seriously, why even link to all the worlds if there's nothing to click on. Are all the maps and locations really gone/unclickable or is it just my browser?

It's likely your browser needing you to manually approve flash use. Are you using Chrome? I had to manually accept flash in my Chrome.

Yes, I'm using chrome. I updated my flash player recently so shouldn't it be working?

Be sure to update your Adobe Flash Player and make sure it's functional with your browser.
Also, you'll want to have your browser set to allow Flash to work on-site; here's a screencap from my Chrome browser.



The maps might not show up whatsoever if you don't do that.

Yeah I just created a new account and saw the tutorial is still Flash, then saw the same empty pages for all the maps so it was obvious Flash. I don't have it installed so you can go to hXXp://www.neopets.com/preferences.phtml and change the bandwidth settings from Flash to GIF/JPEG to move around. Probably takes away from the experience but it'll work for now. Actually not really, looks like some lands don't have HTML? Tyrannia doesn't show anything still but Brightvale does.

Looks like very little has changed in forever and the site is on auto-pilot. I wonder if they even stopped storing passwords in plain text since the huge leak from a few years ago. Seems promising since a password reset email didn't email the password but who knows
