NC UCs ideas ?

If you were TNT, how would you design them ?


If it was up to me, I would just make them mirrored... like facing left.

I feel like it would keep the old and new UCs valued

1. Lock the NC UC to an account. Transferring/pounding converts the pet. Users can still convert their pet and rebuy a UC paintbrush (effectively a skin) if they choose to go back and forth.

2. A pet lookup trophy like the PPL or customization spotlight for existing UC pets (not sure if there is a column in the Neopets DB that would allow a quick script to run and give all these pets the trophy).

I have wanted this forever. Even give me this for pets that aren't current UC-able. Give me those old gradients and wonky lineart. Also that.

I 5000000% stand by the idea that it should be a skin item (non color specific, your pet needs to be of an UC species+color combo already for the item to load the effect otherwise it does nothing) on a layer that UCs cannot wear (like biology effects or static w/e). This way ppl who dgaf about owning "true" UCs can have all the pretty pets they want and the crazies on the PC can continue to fight over the "real" ones. Just make them like 2k NC a pop and TNT can retire to a tropical island.

Oh, another thing I'd love, and that could distinguish them from real UCs while also potentially making them alluring to purists to spend money, is to do the existing pool of UCs but in alternate poses.

I chose a lot of BD ones here because they're super dynamic but sad and angry are fun, too, but I feel like more people might not want perma-sad pets that aren't grey (I'd do it!).

Mirroring is an interesting idea, as are the alternate poses. I haven't thought much about it 🤔 I think honestly if they did alternate poses, that'd be a great way to nickel-and-dime people into spending more for different types of "paintbrushes" or "skins" or whatever.

But if you're going the mirroring route, I think that's a really simple and effective way to separate "original" UCs from "new" ones, if indeed that's something that TNT cares about at all. (They might not!)

I dont think tnt will care much about differenciating the new ucs to the old ones, the mirror idea is kinda good and i liked it, but i honestly dont think tnt will do anything besides released the regular pose. whatever takes less work to be done so they can go back and focus on the shitverse.

Definetly expecting a shit show on PC like happened with this year AC prizes/

I wish it would be such a good way to make money for TNT.
