😡 TNT changing NC Gift Cards

⭐️ Upcoming Changes to Neocash Gift Cards ⭐️

Over the past year, we’ve made many exciting changes and improvements to enhance your Neopets experience, and we’re committed to continuing this journey with you every day.

We need to make some adjustments to ensure we can operate effectively and invest in Neopets' future. Due to fluctuations in the exchange rates between the Brazilian Real (BRL) and the U.S. Dollar (USD), we will implement changes to Neocash Gift Cards. These adjustments will help us cover increased platform fees and align the pricing of these Gifts Cards with direct NC purchases.

Starting March 17, 2025, the following price adjustments will take effect:

💳 Neopets Ylana DDP Neocash Gift Card: R$30 → R$40
💳 Neopets Sophie DDP Neocash Gift Card: R$30 → R$40

We understand that changes like these can be frustrating, and we truly appreciate your continued support and passion for Neopets. We’re grateful to have such a vibrant community and are dedicated to ensuring that Neopets thrives for another 25 years and beyond!

Alot of people (& myself) are not happy at all with these upcoming changes. Really sad TNT did this because now it makes me not want to indulge in any NC trades/purchases anymore.

What are your thoughts/opinions on this?

I'm quite bothered by it as well. TBH NC has already gotten so out of hand with the frequency of new item drops, the drop rates of LEs in the capsules, not to mention the somewhat recent/previous price adjustments to NC cards.

They've offered new incentives to purchase directly on site, however I can't seem to get the payment to ever go through, my bank declines it, and paypal doesn't work either. I would have hoped they'd fix the on site purchasing system prior to rolling that out. I have no issues whatsoever with purchasing NC cards from shoppy, it gets processed just fine, and the very rare occasions there has been a glitch with cards not coming through to my email, I can DM the seller directly on facebook and she responds immediately and sends over the card numbers with no further hassle or delay. I don't imagine any issue would ever be resolved with such care and promptness from the TNT staff.

Aside from them raising the price of the NC cards, they also gave no notice whatsoever. Literally the day of the change they finally announced it. Which I feel is lame.

Furthermore, if the 3rd party sellers are such tough competition for them, they could have first and foremost at least matched or tried to beat what they offer in price AND gift boxes, along with their extra incentives. They wouldn't even throw in a few extra boxes which is just so cheap.


What I am most passionate about on neo is collecting NC and pet tokens and customizing, but over time my excitement turns to overwhelm as there's just no way I can keep up. It's really disappointing when you buy a 10(+3) pack of grams or mystery capsules and get literally 1 LE, MAYBE 2, PROBABLY 0. And you're left with items that are practically untradeable cause everyone has too many of them.

I was also super excited about the royals potentially dropping tomorrow but then they announced this now and its like, great -

Not a fan of this announcement... especially with the constant dropping of items in capsules with no disclosure of the odds. when are you going to finally admit LEs are at a way lower drop rate, TNT? :v

Oh boy, I hope these players are excited to buy NC on site just for it to error out and not award them the NC! Or better yet, their systems may double charge your card and still not give them the NC.

Didn't they already increase the price last year?

I never buy from TNT directly because I got charged twice, so I just go to resellers here or somewhere else plus is a lot cheaper.

Coming from a country whose currency fluctuates a lot against USD, I understand the decision, but only if they use that money to properly invest on the site.
This smells like corpo greed at a first glance, but I don't know how Neopets revenue is atm, so I can't really point any fingers on this one.

Speaking of revenue, I have seen A LOT of merch recently, so I think business is already blooming (?)
I did buy their coloring book which is very expensive for a coloring book to say the least, but oh well... I hope they don't get too greedy.

I seriously feel bad for people in Brazil, especially for those who have selling NC cards as a side hustle. I never buy directly from site because as so many of us have already said on here, the process is SHIT! I buy from NC card sellers because I will actually get my NC in a timely manner.

I don't know a ton of details about Brazil, but I know that a lot of people there are just scraping by, so increasing prices on people there is an especially big fuck you from TNT

edit: just read some of the boards on site about it. shame that people are blaming the NC card resellers and buyers, like god forbid people try and make a living and others support them and get a good deal on freaking fake money anyway. Clearly there's a large subset of users who don't think the value of NC is as high as they want us to value it. And why value it higher anyway when its all gacha and you can't even get what you want, and need to spend extra money to guy gift boxes to trade? When you can get a good price and free boxes with the NC cards from our lovely Brazilian community.

People on the boards *coughJAWSCHcough* were saying how unfair it was but I see it like this--Our friends from Brasil get what they want, an we get what we want? So what's the issue, TNT?

Did you know they're thinking of raising the price of Premium too?! Unbelievable!!!
