Hey everyone. Just had a new baby and was looking to get a tattoo for him. What are some of your suggestions or some tattoo ideas that you may have. I have my daughter's name tattooed on my left inner forearm but I didn't really want to do the same thing for my son.

Congrats! Hope baby and mother are doing well and healthy. IDK if it's too cliche but maybe something around the baby's birthday? Like in roman numerals with some kind of design (are flowers too girly? haha) or a design with their astrological sign, something like that. :o

Wouldn't the tattoo get stretched as he grow up? Maybe something abstract.
Congratulations! I second the idea about something to do with the date, or the year in roman numerals. Or maybe something symbolic of his name if he has that kind of a name?

I agree with the roman numerals, something simple maybe? Leave some space around it, and when they grow up get another tattoo around it with a symbol of their favorite thing, what they're passionate about, or something else memorable.

It would be helpful to know what style you’re into. American traditional (old school)?
Traditional Japanese? Neo traditional (new school)? Realism? Portraits?
The issue with asking for ideas is you need to be more specific and provide examples of styles you like (and artists as well).
With that being said, me personally I’m more of a traditional/old school girlie (I have 23 tattoos myself, some of them rather large scale pieces as well) so if I had a child and wanted a tattoo to symbolise them, I’d probably either a sparrow and a heart (and you could incorporate his name or birthday in a banner across it). Or pick a song that reminds you of your son and get a tattoo designed based off of your favourite lyric from the song.
Again, I’m biased, but something like just their name or Roman numerals of their birthdate is way too basic and not personal or unique. This kind of tattoo is a big thing so it should have personal meaning to you.
But again, providing examples of styles and artists you like is more helpful!
A friend of mine did the handprint on a piece of paper, shrunk it down to a size he desired and they tattoed the handprint on his thigh
