Neopets 'forgot my password' email server - STATUS

I had been randomly trying a few days ago because I need to reset a hotmail password and nothing goes through. I don't wanna push my luck with another ticket. Dunno if anybody's been still trying.

I was told by support a while back that they have some people in talks with Microsoft and that this isn’t entirely a server-related issue, and there’s not much they can "fix" or tweak. Hopefully, this will be resolved once and for all sometime soon

It's admittedly difficult to stay on the whitelist with the big e-mail providers, but Neopets hasn't done itself any favors by letting automation run amok with password resets and new activations. They don't appear to have proper handlers for bounce-back either, so those mass news and birthday e-mails continue to slam providers despite accounts not existing. It's no wonder that they keep getting flagged. They've let this situation go unchecked for ages. If you can manage to finagle a private e-mail server and fake an e-mail address using a dynamic DNS, then you'd have better control of which e-mails get to you when you need them to. It's either that, or shop around for an e-mail provider that leaves the spam filtering up to you.

Thanks for that update, that’s good news! Hotmail has been dead for awhile now. AOL is still hit or miss depending on the day. Yahoo seems to work fine - if not immediately, it will show up within 24 hours. Gmail has been dead for awhile and I’d love for them to get that sorted too!

Private email servers work fine for sure! The only issue is when an account is attached to a big email and you can’t get a reset or something like that. No doubt they are sending out mad amounts of spam to defunct emails so it makes sense they are getting blocked in that regard. I understand wanting to send out “exciting” things to tempt players to come back but seems like they may be shooting themselves in the foot there. If it bounces back the first time they should take it out of the list or suspend emails for 6 months and try again later. It’s painfully easy to do something like that, I’ve set it up on an enterprise level before.

Is there any workaround if I lost access to my email account? They logged me out when I logged in after a couple years and forced me to change my password. Only issue is I lost the originally yahoo email account access.
