No more "boring' items!

Love this change. Even as a casual player it's frustrating to buy a book and not be able to read it, especially if it was expensive. In all honesty though, if most of the site was converted/worked, I'd be fine with TNT keeping this mechanic or adding it back in.

They should make it so our pets have preferences to books (Drama, Romance, Comedy, Mystery Novel, ect.) and anything outside their preference would be deemed boring. That way, we'd actually know prior to buying a book and it keeps the mechanic added.

I always thought pets didn't like something based on the letters in the pet name or something to that effect but it seems it won't matter anymore!

Considering how easy it was to circumvent with the language settings, there was no real point in it anyway. It was cute back when it wasn't a legacy feature that didn't affect anything, but it was long overdue for removal.

Just curious, was there any explanation given to why there were even "boring" items in the first place?

I think it was meant to act like pets have preferences, therefore they feel more alive. Like, there are some petpets I'd probably scream at too if I saw them haha. It's something to keep track of like your pet's individual birthdays.

The new books were are not translated which means changing setting does not circumvent the issue anymore. If the pet with 1000 books wouldn't read a new book then you were out of luck.

You mean invasion of meridell or defenders of neopia? What ever happened to both of those games anyways? But yes hopefully this means they return soon.
