I normally come on for events usually or if something peaks my interest for purchasing / buying or avatars / collectibles.
Outside of that, I usually have TV shows, movies, or Yugioh Master Duel or just gyming it up
My brain is easily bored (ADHD) and I hyperfixate and then don't touch that hyperfixation for some time. I've taken years off from Neo only to randomly think of it and jump back in. I agree with what others have said about taking breaks and also setting goals you wish to work towards. I also like to watch a TV show or movie when I play and typically am browsing other things in a split screen to keep my brain less bored.

Personally I find that I play in bursts based on Site Events. Like during the last Altador Cup I was quite active (not playing the games myself of course ). I was playing pretty actively during the early days of the Weekly Quests but now I don't usually do them. If I feel like visiting the site is a chore I just play another game, and my backlog of other games to get through is quite large so it is fine lol.

I agree with taking a break - there's no reason to force a hobby. Go off and do other things, play other games! You can always keep tabs on the Neo news thru ck/social media without actively playing and if something exciting is released or catches your eye you can always pick back up again.

When I get over neo, I just stop. Nothing bad happens if I do, so there's no harm in it. Then when the fancy takes me I play again. Oddly enough not playing tends to coincide with poor mental health so I have more important things to focus on anyway at that time.
I take hiatus and play different games then go back to it hardcore obsessively until I burn out and repeat process since like 2003

After going all out for years, I found myself on a 10 year break that was almost necessary. Coming back I'm being much more chill about it after going hard for the first while and getting back up to speed. When I want to do only dailies, that's what I do. No point in doing things you don't enjoy - you can't beat yourself up for it later though!
I usually come back when something about it feels like a goal I should accomplish
Honestly, nothing. I'm the same way with hyperfixations - there are a bunch of interests I kind of cycle between, and a lot of them are things I've put a lot of time and money into when they've been my big focus. I think letting that feel like an obligation and trying to force myself to stay constantly into any one of them would sour me to it. I don't want my hobbies to feel like chores, and I think the way I rotate through stuff is a big part of why I can be so excited by things when I get back into them.
I'm never going to formally quit neo and sell all my accounts etc, and sometimes they're going to sit stagnant for however long because that's not what I want to be doing. I like having a bunch of different hobby options all set up for myself - even though at any given time most of them aren't "in use", I know I still have all my stuff and I know I'll get back to it sometime.

I honestly wish I knew how to bring the passion back. Neopets has been a safe space for me for 20 years now, but after losing my main a few years ago I've really struggled to find the motivation to rebuild. I think you just gotta wait for the urge to play to come back randomly someday. If you try to force it you'll either peter out quickly or make yourself resent it.
