We don't really know a year, this song could reasonably be anywhere. If you could look for some albums that have songs like "it's just a game" or "play the game" song titles that matches the lyrics in some way that would be pretty cool.
my personal theories are that it's either from a musical production, it was an advert, or it's an unreleased demo.
