Oh I had it for years so it’s t wasn’t a surprise. That’s how dermal go. They’re just under the skin so one day they just naturally migrate out !

I have 4 in one ear, 8 in the other, and my belly button. My tragus hurt the most healing because SIDE SLEEPING and my belly button I've literally kept in now for 12 years because that one hurt to much to get done and I still like it so why not keep it?

Also, I wear a CPAP so I was surprised that I was able to still get my septum done. Apparently you can't get it done if you use the nasal pillows, but I use a full-face one so I was in the clear.

Haha same on the belly button! I've had mine for 15 years and I remember it being a real pain during the healing process, but it's been with me for nearly half my life so why not stay?

Honestly I'm going to probably keep it for as long as I can.

I have my lobes pierced and want an industrial or tragus piercing, but I'm a chronic side sleeper to the point where I'll be up for 1-2 hours trying to sleep on my back, dunno if it's worth it haha

I think I do recall an ear piercing on one side being a little more irritated because that's the side I sleep on more often haha

I love my tragus. When I got it done I tried sleeping on the side I didn't get it done, or even on my stomach with the ear I didn't get it done on the pillow. I learned that soaking it in a hot bath or even just letting a super hot shower run on it really helped with the pain and swelling too.

since I mainly sleep on my left, maybe a piercing on my right side would be the move? I guess my fear is that I tend to alternate sides when I can't sleep haha; did the irritation ever evolve into anything worse, or was it just through the healing process?
thank you both for the advice and for sharing, I don't have many friends with industrials/tragus piercings so I appreciate hearing your experiences!

Mine wasn't industrial/tragus, just regular earlobes, but that was my experience with those. Only took me through the healing process, the one side just took a teensy bit longer.
