What Makes a Great Avatar?

Not the Neopets avatars, the ones here on clraik! What do you like about your avatar? Does it hold special meaning? What ones are better? Characters, memes, or a landscape style like mine? I was thinking of changing mine, but it feels like a big commitment because its essentially your face on clraik!

Mostly I just have fun making a customization and then putting my cat in it. I used to make myself custom userbars for every single one, but I've been less inspired with designing them the past couple of years, and when I have been inspired I haven't had time, so I sort of fell off of it.

I'm nowhere near as talented as some of the great folks that do avatar/bSar combos but I love their attention to detail in animation, color coding, etc!
As I'm not an avid userbar collector I just tried to make myself a theme that works with the bars I do have? And I like to always keep it on theme with my UN.

I just went off my love of pokemon and my favorite one, Buizel. I collect their merch irl as well, and it's fun to find like-minded fans which leads to our tournaments like March Madness.

A username change is a big decision though! I recommend going with something from your personal interest as well. It's fun to base your avatars/UB stacks on a theme and design with it.

honestly I just love the artists on here, and being able to show off their stuff every day is great!
I love Shinx and it's evolutions so seeing the creative stuff here is amazing

Mine used to be Mimikyu and now it's Kyubey!

I am an extremely open person, on Neo and in a non-cheating offsite circle I have, so it's dangerous for me to use my real biggest interests since they'd give me away. So instead, I wanted something that was still me, but would not be linked directly back to my onsite identity.

I found mine on Tumblr. I wanted something with a witchy/supernatural vibe to match my username.

I think the willing to make it combine somehow. From the beginning I was inspired by seeing other userbar themes and def knew I wanted to try mixing, colors, transitions

I started with different wolf avatars and then ended in a Rockruff/Lycanroc cycle haha
