    cK Accountability Group!

I thought it might be fun/worthwhile to start an accountability group where we can say when we go to the gym, what we did there, etc. and use that to support each other! No uniform goals in mind for anyone, just whatever you want to do, whether it’s simply going every day and walking on a treadmill for 30 mins, or bodybuilding. And no beating yourself or anyone else for *not* going, just support and encouragement for those tough days where you weren’t able to make it in.

If anyone is interested, I’d like to start that in this thread. My partner and I have been making it our mission to try to go to the gym 2-3 days a week. I get a free membership due to where I work, and my partner has a reduced rate based on his income, so we don’t have much of a reason to not go. My personal goals are to lose 15 pounds (I gained those within this past year and have been very depressed about it) and/or look a little skinnier, and it’d also be nice to gain some tone in a few areas on my body. I also have chronic back/neck issues due to hypermobility (I think that was what my old PT said), so doing exercises for my core and shoulders would really be beneficial. I don’t know if my partner has much of a goal other than “follow me around and do whatever I’m doing.” I don’t know if he’d admit it, but he’s a bit dependent on me and follows me like a puppy (hence him being a dog in my artsona for him haha).

This was all very long-winded, so bless you if you read all of that. Today at the gym, my partner (let’s just call him J for Joker from Persona 5 haha) and I tried the pool out for the first time. I am VERY out of practice swimming, as I discovered. Trying to do a few strokes was really hard for me! I found a few things that worked for a bit and we did half laps on and off for maybe twenty minutes? I did not expect that to wipe me out as much as it did. We attempted to go use some machines next, but after doing three reps on a leg machine I’ve already forgotten the name of, I saw spots in my vision when I stood up, so J and I decided to call it for the day. I’m gonna eat some Goldfish crackers and nap it off before D&D tonight.

Feel free to share what you’ve been doing at the gym lately, or come get some encouragement to go!

Oh, I like this! I've been mostly doing physical therapy because my legs were doing funky things for a minute there, but I've been cleared to start jogging and will probably graduate to be done with PT soon. I recently moved, so still figuring out my fitness situation outside of PT for now.

Awesome idea! I spend a lot of time working out on a daily basis ... but I love to see you guys doing it also.

For back issues I recommend core excercises and decompression by hanging. You can youtube hanging for explanations! Its life changing, at least for my lower back.

    i love this!!!

i went to the gym 2 days ago and went on the treadmill / bike + did some (very small lol) weight lifting.
yesterday i took it easy since i was super sore and just did a bunch of walking around my neighborhood.
today i was going to go back to the gym but work knocked me out... so maybe today is my break day haha.

i will update the next few days on what i do to keep myself accountable.

Yeah, my old PT gave me some core exercises to do, I just struggle to stick to them :') But I was definitely thinking of you while making this thread! Your online coaching inspired me :3
