TNT removed 2FA and gave my acc to someone else

How much info did they have to provide to get 2FA removed and the password reset?

I know the original email, DOB, current information etc but I’m wondered what was provided to TNT for them to remove 2FA, I thought that was pretty solid… and sorry but anyone can find out email/Dob/other with all the security breaches of the site, no?!

Pretty pissed off, I liked my account and stored a good 300-500m on there!

Wow that sucks! With as many people as I've seen signing up here and claiming they've gotten their OLD accounts back, I'm willing to wager a lot of old players are returning, and are gettin their old accounts back. I'm assuming they would have known all the OG information the pre-dates you getting into the account and TNT gave it back to them?

It seems like a freak chance, but it's not impossible I think.

Thanks for the response, yeah it does look that way… I’m not sure if I have a leg to stand on but I suppose it’s worth a try. I’ll give them the OG email, updates since then, everything that’s on the account, tbh my thoughts are if they managed to give enough to remove 2FA after I had to reset password with the info after forced password reset, then I’m fucked! Weird though, it wasn’t a used account, it did a couple of early plots and then nothing for 10-15 years.. can’t believe someone would come back for it!

omg that sucks, but yeah i'd probs chalk it up to bad luck that out of all the people that person decided to come back. i had a similar situation come up and i just accepted the loss cause better to lose something instead of everything

Its so wild that TNT will just disable 2FA, like i get it if its the cause of the original owner coming back but I have heard they have done this in other cases and given accounts over to random people. What's the point of 2FA if TNT removes it so quickly???

Wow, I've gotten an account stolen once too and I don't know how they did it still

I'd try to provide any files you may have that show your ownership, or any that show your activity on the account (did you win a bc contest? show them the file with the date on it) that's the only way that comes to my mind.

Do you have access to the OG email? I lost a few built up accounts I bought somewhere else the same way unfortunately.

I'm very nervous about this happening to me. Is there any way around it? Account owner handing you over keys to the OG email too as part of the sale maybe?

That is ouch. Definitly a huge loss but chances are the original owner did come back. Neopets have bee gaining some popularity lately and likeInfected said, people are getting back there old accounts
