the negg faerie being grey is particularly interesting, since we've already seen grey faeries being "created" through their names and magic being taken, and she still has her wings so this is different. i wonder if grey faeries will be part of the plot in general

It's interesting because we saw the paint brush in the festival comic and then during advent, you can see someone wielding it and looking over Brightvale as a grey streak running from the castle in the distance all the way to where they stand. But does that mean someone is targeting and painting the shopkeepers grey or is it just spreading like an illness? Aesop mentioned in the AMA that canonically, it's being found that Neopets that go grey from this affliction cannot be repainted via a brush, the fountain, etc. I would have assumed faeries would be immune to this magic since they're not pets and presumably couldn't be affected by paint brushes but.. now there's this development.

I imagine the Negg faerie is somewhat powerful as well. Not as strong as Fyora or the Battle Faerie, but this also means that whatever's happening can effect stronger beings in Neopia. We might have to bring out heavy hitter heroes to save Neopia.
