☃️ What is YOUR Holiday Tradition?? 🎄

My family doesn't really have something we do every single year anymore, but on years when it's not icy, I go out for a walk late at night.
Sometimes it's the 25th, other times it's in the early hours of the 26th, cold air and the quiet gives me time to reflect.
It's a little depressing but I enjoy it haha.

That’s not depressing at all. I actually really agree it’s a great time to reflect. I love a cold and quiet night. The air is different.

As sad as this made me feel, I like the sense of hope at the end with thinking about creating a new tradition. I’m sure whatever you come up with will eventually bring you some joy and light 🩷

Thank you. I'm trying my best. I know they wouldn't want me to remain sad for forever, so trying to find joy in some small ways is the least I can do.

I did spend tonight drawing and spoiling the ever-loving crap out of my cat, so that absolutely helped.

That is so sweet. I’m sure your cat loved that. And it’s okay to feel sad for a while - losing your partner is hard. Just know their spirit is with you during this holiday time.

When I was little I enjoyed watching the fireworks at midnight; The magic of Christmas was the gifts that magically appeared under the tree while we were all outside looking at the sky. For a few years now we haven't gotten together with the family to celebrate because there are no more children, so we give out gifts at any other time...
On Friday my mother received news. She beat cancer!! I still can't believe it... so this year we have a great reason to celebrate. We have been crying for three days and organizing a Christmas party, like when I was little. The whole family is traveling to be with us tonight.

My husband and I are starting our first Christmas Holiday Tradition later today. I am making his favorite dinner of the year, Spaghetti, and then afterward, we are going to put together the gingerbread house (actually oreo cookie), and then watch Home Alone while drinking hot cocoa. Mine will have peppermint baileys added because I drink and he doesn't.

So, with our first Christmas Holiday tradition starting, I want to know what everyone else's Christmas holiday tradition is! Or if you don't have any, did you have any growing up? Do you want to make any new traditions?

We don't open presents on Christmas day though... as we just don't do that part of Christmas since we basically spoil each other throughout the year. We don't have children and his mom and my dad passed away so we don't have family to visit since my momma lives with us.

We are doing a ham dinner for Christmas with stuffing, mac n cheese, and mashed potatoes. I am also having some turkey because I love turkey!

My momma and I are gonna end tonight drinking some fun drinks and watching Christmas holiday baking shows! She is choosing. So today will be eventful.

Tomorrow, we will continue to watch Christmas movies!

Awe how much fun! I've had Jiggs dinner before and it is sooooo good! I could.imagine that a Christmas party with some Newfies.was just rocking!

Omg my mom loves butter cookies!!!! I have never thought to make any. As a kid my momma and I made sugar cookies with a yummy powder sugar icing. Oh memories.

Yes I’m familiar with that tradition but it is specific to Newfies! Isnt common outside of NFLD
