☃️ What is YOUR/FAMILYS Holiday Tradition 🎄

Thought this would be a fun thread to start. Post your Holiday Tradition you do with your family whether that's Ice Skating, Fishing, Board Games, Cooking/Baking Items, Arts & Crafts or something else!

☃️ My families tradition is: We always make Chex Mix, Chocolate & Peanut Butter Fudge, and we ALWAYS get Chinese food on Christmas Day Dinner.

We always open gifts 8AM on Christmas Eve and we always have the family over for a big meal. Meal is usually random but follows multiple items and then my mum bakes Pumpkin, Chocolate Cream, and Cherry Pies for dessert.

Still put out the milk and cookies for Santa at 11pm before I go to bed still lol. ☃️

My godmother always got me red pajamas to wear on Christmas Eve! My family is a little more spread out now so this is the first year ever it's not gonna happen D:

Christmas Eve grandma would get to choose a gift for each grandchild to open. One year my grandma chose a gift from my Dad who was deployed at the time and I had no idea he was able to send a gift. It's one of my favorite memories of Christmas : ) I miss my grandma so much. It's fun now though to watch my mom choose a gift for my son :' )

Every year my and my siblings all get one new decoration for the christmas tree, it started when we were really young, so we used to make them in school, now I buy one and ship it over to my parents for them to put on the tree!

One of my older sisters makes breakfast for the family the morning of Christmas. She loves cooking and baking, so she looks forward to it every year. I love going and just spending time with her since I don't see her too often during the year.

I was thinking of doing a thread like this, great minds!

My wife didn't have many happy traditions growing up, so we do ALL of the traditions now - 100% of the credit goes to her.

On Christmas eve we'll make homemade pizzas, and while the dough is rising we'll go for a walk around the neighbourhood to check out all of the lights/decorations.

On Christmas day we'll do hot chocolate early, then presents, then a big brunch (skip lunch) and a big turkey dinner. She loves doing the Christmas crackers as well.

On Boxing day we'll be super lazy and have a dinner made of all sorts of dips! Taco dip, buffalo chicken dip, etc.

I now realize that's a lot of eating... Oh well it's great times spent with family!

We used to have a family tradition on Christmas Eve. We'd go to church (in the evening/night mass), come back and eat dinner and then open presents (usually everything was over around 12-1am) but since we lost an important family member a couple years ago we just.. get together in the garage, put the flatscreen on a workbench and watch tv, drink and chat amongst each other

I'll make a huge pot of "gumbo" and rice the morning of so we'll have something to pick at all day. There's even bolios (bread) that we use for dippin', and we get those from the local bakery the day before. It became a bit of a comfort thing for us on holidays! When we go visit the in-laws there's menudo or pozole and tamales to look forward to!

i think my favorite tradition the past few years has been helping my mom make jam every christmas. my grandma used to make it every year and give a couple jars to all my aunts and cousins, but now its my moms responsibility - and will eventually be mine. its really great quality time for us, and i cherish that time with her so much
