    Anyone listen to opera?

I personally love opera, but I find a lot of people clown on it. Which I kind of get, it can be an acquired taste. But I'd love to hear what your favourite songs and renditions of said songs are.

I love the Queen of Night aria, and this particular rendition is by far the best. But show me what you guys like too!
Thank you Lyrichord for the userbar!

I can *almost* hit all of the Queen of the Night notes. The highest one (I think it's an F or G?) is the only one out of reach for me, although my former voice teacher swears I can get it if I warm up enough.

I love opera! I love classical music and always have as a little kid. I grew up watching Amadeus so my favorite operas are the ones from that movie lol. I'm not good with names for the operas and always forget them lol, but I love it so much! Never been to one though :'(

Have you ever been to one live?

I don't generally go out of my way to listen to opera, but I do enjoy going once in a while. I've had an appreciation for classical music from a very young age. While I don't have a specific song favorite, Carmen's Habanera jumps to mind, as well as the Toreador.

As far as my favorite opera, that goes to Rossini's La Cenerentola! Way better than the Disney version of Cinderella. La Scala has a great version on DVD. Possibly streaming, but I'm not sure.

My entire family loves opera, so I've been to a few. I'm not a huge fan. The closest I personally get to opera is Bohemian Rhapsody lmao

I've sadly never had the chance to go to one because I live way too far away from any performances, but it's a definite dream of mine. Same as seeing a ballet!
Also I feel you on the names though, haha. Especially when it's not in English. But if I hear it, I know it

Song to the Moon from Rusalka. I love Dvorak so much.

Also, this piece from Madama Butterfly.

It's not a song but I absolutely adore it, probably my favourite piece from the entire opera.
