Hi hi yes it is knockout. If you lose against a leader your journey is done. It's in the OP 😀

4.If you defeat the Elite Four member you move on to the next member and repeat the process. If you lose, you are done your clraik Indigo Plateau journey.

Happy to participate and can't wait to battle you all!

For these battles, they'll be treated the same way the video game treats the Elite 4.

Meaning, you prep your team and fight each member consecutively. You progress to the champion if you win, but if you lose even once anywhere through the battles, then the challenge ends there.

(Though, in the games, you get booted to the Pokemon Center to heal up and try again, but you get the idea.

Just to add to this if you are doing a best 2/3 matches if you lose one match it's fine, it's if you loose the best 2/3 series that would be counted as a loss. Hope that helps and makes sense.
