Netflix Preview Club

I just got an email inviting me to join the "Netflix Preview Club" (love the acronym that makes). I thought it was a scam at first but apparently it's a legitimate thing. I was curious if anyone else has signed up and would recommend for or against it? Any early releases of their more popular shows? I'd be quite interested to watch Beastars season 3 early 👀 also decidedly not interested in feeling obligated to have to watch stuff because I actually barely use my Netflix account as it is.

I didn’t even know this was a thing. What makes me wonder is, what is their selection criteria 🤔 especially if you mention you barely use Netflix as is!

Edit: upon doing some reading on Reddit, it’s hit and miss and there’s not a guarantee of what content you will be asked to preview.

That’s pretty cool! I wonder how they pick who to bring into that. I’d love a sneak peek of things early.. even though I’m right there with you, I don’t have much time to watch things lately. I’ve had my Netflix account since late 2007/early 2008 though.

I didn't know this was a thing but I checked my email and apparently got an invite a couple months ago. I just went to sign up and it said I didn't meet the qualifications after selecting what fields I worked in, saying I didn't meet the minimum qualification? They didn't even have a proper "engineering/technology" option, it was something like "social media and technology" but whatever, i guess? Seems like it could be fun to try!

From reading the Reddit thread Cinna posted it looks like getting weeded out for social media and technology is a pattern. I'm guessing they view social media professionals as a liability for possibly leaking content. It's so weird they bundled social media with technology instead of marketing, tech is a massively broad category and I feel like social media is just a sub type of marketing. They did let me through with Finance.

I read their terms and conditions and it's just a ton of NDA stuff, no talk of being obligated to participate if you sign up so I went ahead and joined. I've had my Netflix account since at least 2010 without interruptions so I'm guessing it's a longevity thing, they're probably targeting accounts they think will have a low churn rate.

Interesting! Somebody in the reddit thread said they retook the signup survey and just selected a different field, so I suppose I could retake it just with "education" (I used to teach, so it counts?), but not sure if I want to bother, lol. Maybe if you like it I'll give it another go.
