Super Mario RPG Remake

Oh man I never played the original but I feel like I have heard so much about Super Mario RPG (memey or otherwise) this honestly looks really exciting! Will have to see if I can pick it up (on sale) eventually to do a play through. Curious though, was the original on that isometric map layout too? Or was it more of a flat 2D top down view more like Link to the Past?

The game looks very similar with the exception of an upgrade from bit graphics to more smooth current gen graphics. I would say the game's highlights is in it's unique battle system (for its time), it's story, and loads of side-quests/over world quests.

Original game was also developed along with square enix which gave it a similar final fantasy feel to it.

I never played this game as a kid, so I had no idea this was even a thing! It looks cute and rather well made. I assume it does good homage to the original but I guess we shall see? I’m not sure if I will play this one but I may! I find I lose interest in Mario games easily because I’m more of a JRPG girlie.

Was not expecting this! Legitimately one of the best turn-based RPGs ever made in my estimation. Such a fun combat system

This all literally feels like a fever dream. My childhood self would never have believed we'd get Geno on a modern console, I was so sure he was stuck in copyright hell between Squenix and Nintendo. I wonder if it was never a thing at all and we were just being conspiratorial, or if the companies have actually worked out a deal?

I believe Nintendo and Square / Enix are playing nice right now according to sources. Its the year of Mario!
