Omg i am so excited to see how this all hashes out, ATLA is such a crazy influential piece of media for a lot of people, including myself!!

The costuming looks amazing too. Can't wait to see this!!

One of my long term friends is in the costuming department, they worked their ass off to make it look like believable clothing/armour without straying too far from the source material.

i hope it's good!! i LOVED the cartoon as a kid and have rewatched as an adult a few times. never went near the movie as i heard it was horrible and i didn't want anything to do with it lmao

Oh wow I was thinking of rewatcing ATLA recently. I don't know if I'll give this one a try since I'm usually skeptical of Netflix's remakes and live actions, but at least the casting looks superb (especially compared to last time lmfaoo).

I've also been thinking of rewatching it and might do it after I finish through with my Schitt's Creek rewatch. I'm hoping they're aware of how much disdain (for lack of better word) there is for the Shyamalan version, and hoping they take care with how they do it, but we can only wait and see, I suppose.

Ahhh, that's awesome! I imagine costumes have gotta be really interesting challenge for a production like this, considering the animated source material and balancing visuals with not looking too cartoony, plus the historical/cultural influences and wanting to honor that accuracy as well.

I love ATLA. Enough so that I'm a little worried that I won't like the live action remake! (So many remakes happening these days.) It might just boil down to a preference between animation and actors, for genre things. The special effects for this will be very interesting.

I was hoping to actually see some of the show in that preview and not just a little soundtrack tease with the graphic design of the four elements. I suppose it's nearly a year til release so I'll let it be for now.

Well I had no idea about this and I'm also afraid I won't like the live action, but I liked the anime a lot so I have to give them the chance of doubt!

Here wondering about Toph of course but I imagine they will only cover some parts

Avatar the last airbender!! One of the few english animated series that I watched and enjoyed!! TBH, it's the only Avatar show that i will acknowledge, not the blue humanoids. lol! i vividly remember making a gif of ATLA on posted it on tumblr and it got so many likes and i was thrilled back then. hahhaah
