I have friends in South Africa so I was considering to travel to them one of these summers, since it's winter down there during this time lol. I hope you're able to find your way into dark cool areas this summer! 😬
I wish I had the money to travel! I would go and visit friends during the summer so I could get away from this heat LOL
I truly can not stand Summer or being outside. I would rather sit in my room, fan on (Or AC if Im lucky), play some LoZ/Pokemon/FFXIV and just relax.

Now if we're talking about Fall/Winter, I love to go out and see the decorations! I love to walk down the street and just look at the Christmas lights, but sadly... it seems less and less people are doing so each year ):

I came home a day early from my last trip to Paris as I was fighting loneliness really badly. Next year hopefully I'll be going on a couple of holidays with friends, but this year's a bust.

I'd love to hear what other single people do with their breaks, if they don't have friends in a position to go away with them?
My "vacations" when I was younger and still in school were always to visit relatives, not places. Now, it's almost always to travel to visit a friend - probably because of this very thing. However! I did travel internationally last year, solo, for my birthday. I was pretty anxious the whole time, but I made sure I'd be around people. I joined day-long tour groups in a very scenic area, and even with the loneliness, jet lag, and everything else, I had a wonderful time. Very glad I went and did the thing, and now I feel a lot better about doing it in the future.

I honestly feel like I'm one of the very few who don't plan things during the summer because I legit hate the hot weather lol. Fall/Winter is when I take most of my vacations and trips because that's when the weather is much more my style. I do have a trip planned for Vegas in August, which will be fun. I always love going out there and go hiking, spending a lot of time outside of the city, and then going downtown and being a "tourist" haha. Vegas is basically my second home, and if it wasn't absolutely hotter than Hades ballsack. I'd live there.

    Thank you Hellraid <3

This is lovely - where did you travel to?
I went to Madeira last year solo which was fine, I'm glad I went and it was great to get warm weather late in the year, but I probably should have signed up to some group tours and things. I'm a bit anxious with strangers! I also got frustrated with people at the hotel constantly asking why I was there alone, so I might get an apartment if I do it again.

I feel all the 'summer is too hot' posts honestly. I used to be a warm blooded person and boiled in the summer, but somewhere I changed to being a naturally cold person, and I live somewhere we don't get much hot weather. I still don't like blazing hot temperatures but 70 - 80 degrees with sunshine makes me feel so much better.

I went to the land of fire and ice because of its tremendous beauty, and I'd wanted to for well over a decade. And, the only thing boiling was the geothermal pools!

Glad to hear you were able to drop that class! Planting trees sounds like it could be super nice, finding fulfilling things like that is such a gift!

so far ive's been getting medical things out of the way and working on literature review (reading a shittonne of articles) for my master's psychology thesis.

i have a septoplasty coming up, to clear things out in there and make it so that i can breathe out of my left nostril. apparently i've lived my whole life with it being almost shut!
after that i'll probably scout out someone who can sufficiently assess the multitude of symptoms i have for postural orthostatic tachycardia and/or ehlers-danlos syndrome.
learned during the semester from a friend with those two diagnoses that, apparently, a lot of the things i can do and symptoms i have are connected to those specific disorders. unfortunately a looooot of doctors love telling people that it's "probably just something else go home you hysterical fiend".
my friend has found a seemingly reliable doctor who specializes in those things, so hopefully i can get an appointment with them some time in july.

as for my thesis, i've read and summarized 4 articles thus far, and hope to have 25-30 read by mid-august when the fall semester starts again.
it takes about an hour to read and take notes on each of them. lots of brain power and focus required to truly understand them, and actually learn things from them.
my (current, hopefully stable) focus is on on disgust and/or morality, specifically surrounding sexual acts.
there's also a weekly class held on campus that i sit in on, though it's mainly focused on presentation prep, and i havent even begun to think about all that.

besides that, i have a few plans to hang out with friends and do things like barbecues and movie nights and girl's night outs. and my parents may decide at the last minute to do a long weekend beach vacation like they did last year.

YES! honestly, anywhere from like, 40-70 is perfect for me. Anything above 75 is pushing it and I start to sweat immediately.

@(you need an account to see links) Good luck with the housing ventures....the market right now is spicy, to say the least. lol. your setup in your back yard is beautiful though. I miss the little things like that
@(you need an account to see links) Sorry about your pre-calc class. I took a pre-calc class in summer/spring after not taking math classes in like 5 years so I know it sucks. I want to go to Pokemon cons too! I am in the midwest but WI is still kinda far.

For me, I'd like to go camping but I just don't have the financials. From November last year until last week has been the worst my life has seen in a decade. My financials are drained so I think I am just going to get my 90 days in at my new job, take some PTO in oct for cons, video games, or just relaxing, and do the camping next year. I just need to be immersed in nature. Perhaps I will stick to parks this year. Also, yeah, the heat can buzz off.
