Chiropractor shoves my bones back in my sockets, massage therapist helps with associated muscle pain. I have a medical condition though (undiagnosed idk what it is and I dont even have a guess so it may not be the same for you.)

Get checked by a physio therapist.

I don't want to be one of those crazy crows but I work in a hospitals in the ICU setting and I have seen more than one (which, one is enough for me) of my stroke patients come in from a chiropractor's office due to a vertebral artery dissection from manipulation. But, I also know people who have had positive chiropractic experiences themselves! I think I've seen enough from work to never go to one, myself xD

That being said, I've gone to a massage therapist for soreness before and had a great experience. A 60 minute swedish massage was really beneficial and I felt great after!

Hope you feel better!! Maybe some gentle stretching and icing too?

I also second the physio/physical therapist evaluation, especially if it impacts your functional movement!

thank you Lyrichord for the amazing avatar!

I came to say this too! If you do go to a chiropractor do NOT let them work on your neck. The other areas are much safer at least and maybe a good chiro could help you! Otherwise I'd also recommend massage + physio like Joe said

Do you have health insurance? I work in the field and most plan sponsors don't cover massage therapist, which will lead to you paying for the service 100% out of your pocket. Most plans, however, do cover chiropractic services. However, I do overall agree that going to see a physio/physical therapist, since it'll at least guarantee coverage.

I would try massage therapy first, and then they can suggest a chiropractor if needed. Or go to your doctor to see if they recommend a Chiropractor and can give you a referral!

If it's serious physio therapy. It's good to get checked every now and then anyway. Just regular soreness massage or if they have a hydro bed at your local gym (planet fitness for me) those are amazing for aches and pains. Chiro? Ever since I read how that practice started I never set foot in one.

I never went to one either, they scare the bajeeebees outta me! My hubby goes to them often. He swears by them. I never learned how they started though and I am afraid to research it lol. I am already afraid of chiropractors.
