I believe it was because of the Flash!

Without Flash Player, much of the site stopped working!

In fact.. With the amount of content they had in Flash.. They only managed to convert minimally..

One of the few things that isn’t flash related, actually. KeyQuest was made in Java and TNT didn't have any java developers when sold to Jumpstart (the game relied a lot on java devs from other teams at Viacom). So it was shut down.

There’s also a rumour that a lot of the code was lost between the transfer of companies. So I don’t have high hopes for it’s return.

Keyquest was long discontinued before Jumpstart moved to HTML at the end of 2021.

From what I've heard, Jumpstart never got the assets/game from the previous owners, Viacom. So the only way for the current owners to "bring" it back would be if they made the game from the ground up to mimic to old Keyquest. They've also answered in previous editorials that they aren't focused on this game since they're working on converting the site and the other games to beta.

Keyquest is the reason I stopped playing neopets for so long ngl. Removing that took my main grind out of neopets.
