My socialising is the car scene, lots of people love to talk about their cars and now I have something decent I enjoy discussing mine too!
I also play field hockey as goalie so socialise with team members and my community club which is great ^_^

i've been going to local meetups with queer groups, though it is definitely a struggle actually going to them. unfortunately I enjoy being cosy at home rather than going out, but it does always end up being worth it going out.

Post pandemic I think I'm lazier to interact with people and go out and be social. It's not that I cannot be social, I just don't care for it enough, and am too lazy. My social group now is only 4 very close friends, and I barely meet the extended groups anymore.

Although for those struggling to, or wanting to make new friends; you should join a gym, or an activity of some sort where there's a routine and people come regularly. When you see someone often enough you build familiarity and get talking. I've found that's a great way to meet new people.

What helped me make friends as an adult and socialize IRL was I joined a local hackspace. Large cities will generally have a few so you can find one somewhat near you. It was a breath of fresh air to find a community with people that have the same interests as me and I found it much easier to make friend than trying to do it randomly at a bar or concert or grocery store or something random like that. My best advice is to just find a space that has something you are interested in, whether it be a tennis court or a hiking trail or a sewing class, just gravitate towards the spaces that interest you and the people and socialization will be sure to follow!
