I listen to literally everything but I grew up on hip hop so that can always get me in the mood.
I'm a big hip hop head so I listen to alot of Nas, Cube, Vado of late..
I also like Rock - but I'm not expert - I don't even know if these are all considered rock but I like Breaking Benjamin, Switchfoot, Three Days grace
As you might guess I really don't listen to current musicNot that I think its bad or anything but I don't listen to radio or random stuff on Spotify so I just stick with what I know really.

I like music that makes me feel like I'm training for battle or like I'm a hot villainess! That means I'm listening to movie and trailer soundtracks or phonk.
Omg I was literally going to make this post the other day!!!!!
I listen to what gets my adrenalin going. I used to only do cardio so I liked drum and bass for my running workouts because it helped me keep a faster cadence. Typically, I'd listen to a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix because I'm also impatient so if I listen to my own tracks on my phone, I tend to skip around a lot. In an Essentials Mix, I can let it run and not worry about wanting to skip a song because it starts to slow for example. I'm training at a powerlifting gym so I'm not doing explosive or fast movements anymore so now, literally the only thing I listen too consistently is the Doom Eternal Soundtrack (justice for Mick Gordon!). I don't listen to that soundtrack anywhere else because I want it to be something I look forward to when going to the gym so it helps to keep me motivated to go. It's a great combo of metal/hard rock/electronic music (the "harder" stuff like The Prodigy in their prime) to get me pumped to pull a deadlift PR because there's a lot of build ups and drops in the music so I tend to time my sets around that. Here's an example of what I mean:
Also the music is just, in general, badass like the Doom Slayer so it pumps me to be a badass and pull heavier weight lol. Like, I'm training to be a badass chick more than anything tbh

Not that much of a gym goer, but when I do exercise at home or go for jogs I listen to pop or k-pop, lol.
Opposite of what a lot of people listen to, I know, but I really like popular k-pop beats![]()

Upbeat kpop or like @(you need an account to see links) said something that makes you feel like you're going into battle. I used to really like listing to a cinematic playlists (Groups like Hidden Citizens) when I went to the gym and was doing heavier stuff. Makes you feel so cool lol I know it makes you instantly lame saying that but whatever lol.

well, i don't really need my playlist at the gym. i'm one of those weird people who isn't bothered by the music played there, haha. so it's common for me to just forget my earbuds. =x
however, having my playlist with me is much more motivating for sure. it consists of the same music i listen to most of the time, rock, haha. honestly, this is the only kind of music that truly pumps me up at the gym. i'm oblivious to the rest.
so, to sort my songs, i mostly choose "i'm amazing, i can overcome everything" kind of music, like this:
or "i hate you, i hate the world" kind of music, like this:
and, sometimes, uh, something like this: 🙈
basically, i just try to avoid working out to depressing or sad music, haha.

I love listening to video game music at the gym. The World Ends With You / NEO: TWEWY, Persona 5, and RDR2 are always in rotation but the true standing champ for me is Streets of Rage 4's OST
The sound track is excellent all around but a few favorites are:

I actually have several genres to listen at the gym hahaha, lately I've been playing Dembow which is a Dominican urban genre, you should try listen to it... Some good ones are Tokischa, Bulin 47, Angel Dior, Rochy RD, El Alfa, etc...
It's not my favorite genre to be listening to lyrics but they're very catchy and you just wanna dance and vibe to it :p
But also, sometimes I'm playing my Avenged Sevenfold, Rupaul, Beyonce, Rosalia, Dua Lipa or even my anime opening playlists :p
It's very much about the vibes of the day haha![]()
