Hello future friends!

Hi! I used to be active here a few years ago and have recently gotten the neo itch and returned. I don't think I ever made an intro post and I'd like to actually try and make some friends this time around sooo... here goes nothing!

I'm currently a stay at home mom expecting my 2nd crotch goblin in mid-April, but before that I worked in IT in healthcare as an application analyst. Also do joint real estate investing with the spouse and we're working on finishing up a rehab now to get it rented out hopefully within the next month or so.
I'm hugely into playing video games (PS, Switch, PC, etc.) Mmos are my ish, though currently on a wee hiatus from FFXIV and Overwatch lol. Farming sims like Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons & Stardew Valley are my kryptonite. Also Pokemon <3
I read books, but mostly only YA trash because I am also trash c: Will happily take any book recommendations!
Also watch probably wayyy too many tv shows and movies lol. Always into anything related to space, love a good k-drama, and have very varied tastes on shows!
The hubby and I are very into tabletop board games (it's like our one shared hobby lol), like Catan and beyond, and we have a pretty swanky collection & attend cons whenever possible. If there are other board game people here, would love to connect & maybe play some games online!

But it's a good gateway game for people to get into board gaming since most people have heard of it at least! I definitely aspire to be like you and your group and get some kind of consistent DnD/Pathfinder group going one of these days!

Putting The Twisted Ones & Swordheart on my list to check out c:
I've been reading garbage lately, but outside of that, I'd recommend the Red Rising (series) by Pierce Brown, Shadow and Bone (series) by Leigh Bardugo, Uglies (series) by Scott Westerfeld, and Cinder (Lunar Chronicle series) by Marissa Meyer. Most of these are dystopian/fantasy YA, which is usually my jam lol.

Our main demographic right now is actually college students and traveling nurses! We look for homes in areas close to universities and hospitals. There's a whole network you can sign up for that traveling nurses use to find rentals whenever they get placed somewhere and it's been a great help. Currently getting set up with a local medical school to get on their list of private rentals, since my SIL who's in med school just told us about it and the med school students pay a buttload of money for super short term rentals for their rotations (4-8 weeks usually). Also they're unlikely to be reckless with property since they're never home and it reflects poorly upon them for their program and could get them blacklisted lol.

I'm actually in the middle of reading some serious YA trash right now called Crave (first in its series) by Tracy Wolff. FB kept shoving ads for it down my throat that claimed it was a mix between Twilight + Harry Potter and I was basically sold lmao.
I'm listening to the audiobook and the narrator is making the whole experience very cringey, but it's what I signed up for xD

There are some more suggestions I made for harpy in my above post, but I'd also have to add the Matched trilogy by Ally Condie, and The Selection series by Kiera Cass (which I actually haven't read yet, but it's next on my list). And of course staples like Divergent & Hunger Games if you haven't read them yet!
If you'd like something a bit more on the historical fiction with romance side, the Bridgerton books (there's like 10 of them) are actually really good! Though warning, there's at least 1-2 detailed sexytime scenes in each one, in case you're not into that sort of thing lol.

Also started reading them after watching the Netflix show, which is phenomenal! I think I got halfway through the 4th or 5th one (the one told from Penelope's POV) before I lost track and started another book xD I have to go back and finish it.
Usually I don't start a new book until I've finished the one I'm reading. Idk how people read multiple books at the same time... I'd get lost in the plot lol

Ya know, I've never gotten into the Diablo franchise... Might have to give the latest one a shot. Will have to convince hubby to play with me though, seems like the kind of game that's more fun with friends.

Yes! It's Russian for like an informal goodbye, similar to sayonara or ciao.
