Oh yeah, I've heard about that and I have seen Herdy's page.
Honestly, it's their fault for hiring such people and I don't blame them if people have an initial bad impression because of that.
And Herdy's page is a bit misleading at times, I must say.
But to expand further on what I think could become Neopets Metaverse and how it would compare to regular Neopets:
Cosmetics such as NC Clothes - We currently have very rare items that were given as bonuses or simply popular items. Items in Neopets have an ID, which means they're unique.
The difference is you are technically only allowed to trade them on-site for caps or other items.
In the Metaverse, you would be able to sell that to other users via the network for real money, just like we currently do in a black market as cheaters.
The same applies to items, maybe you took part in the Altador Cup and got some very desirable Thunder Sticks? You could sell that to other users for real money as an NFT item.
Mir4 has that, but what items become NFTs are few and rare (it's essentially luck when dropping/crafting them), and some are even unique, collector's items (
(you need an account to see links) and
(you need an account to see links))
The same would go for pets. As your pets are unique, you would likely be able to trade them with other users for real money (just like in Mir4, your characters are NFTs and there's a
(you need an account to see links)).
In Mir4, there's a minimum stat requirement (level 60, 100k PS) to turn your character into an NFT and you must pay a price to do so.
Or maybe you want to sell your NPs? Convert that to a
(you need an account to see links) and sell it to other users. Those users would then be able to turn those tokens back into NPs, at a lower rate.
These are just some of the examples from Mir4, applied to Neopets. Doesn't sound too awful does it?
And there's so much more I didn't touch on.
