Buyable OG Dyework items. What do you think?

I was going to go buy some dyepots for those new Dyework items, but I seen that they OG items are now in the Mall.
Every. Single. One.

This means that each new dyework item they bring out could now be a buyable.
Im a bit salty as I just bought a few of the items that they put in lol

But how they did this seems...interesting.

With TNT making the decision to no longer return stolen lends, I think it's the perfect solution.

No customisation should cost $100 to complete.

I don't dabble in NC so maybe my opinion might be invalid, but I'm seeing two sides of the coin here.

It's a good solution in order to stop inflation of NC items. As what DW said, no customization should have to cost so much. But at the same time, thinking about people who have traded for those expensive stuff, paid a lot and held on to it, just had their fortunes crash. It's something that happens from time to time, but TNT should've handled it a little better.

I know if it'd happened to me I'd be pissed.

And now... I hope they do this with NP items too. Looking forward to seeing stamps in shops.

I was salty at first, but then I remembered how it feels to bump endlessly searching for one single item just to complete a custom.
On the other hand, I felt terrible for those who traded a lot, or spent real money purchasing them. I wish at least TNT would've made an announcement like the NUCs.

I have thousands of dollars spent and was a hardcore NC trader in the past. I had given up on some customs and items that would make my experience better because they were so difficult to get.

This saves me money, carves out the excess in caps, and stops people from getting taken advantage of. The only thing people lose is the ability to flaunt their items and customs over everyone else - to me that just means my customs need to be more creative and better to stand out. That is a good thing.

I was a little annoyed at first (only because I think there were better solutions if TNT's real concern was with risky lending during DW releases) but I'm fine with it now. However, I think my own personal high value trading days are over if this will be the new trend.

The DW poll next season should be very reasonable and not insane at all, right?

i`m thorn in this, while i do love seeing we able to dye any of the items without having to find a lend is amazing! but the re release of the og is a bit bittersweet since many of the items have recently being traded for a lot.
Another solution tnt could've considered would be to allow dw to happen without the og, but this would remove the og item money revenue and they are grabbing all the oportunities to make some cash, so it makes sense.
But it just makes me wonder how much they will be charging for the bonus from collectors or mmes.
I bet next poll for dw we can expect BBOBF or other super rare pops on top of the list. I just wonder why they ignored the popular vote for jhudoras bodyguards for halloween edition, make they already had this in mind? we'll see what they decide when the time comes.

I think it's a good thing. The idea of truly limited release items was fine fifteen years ago when the player base was much larger and there were more people around with the item in question. The inventory of a lot of stuff is just too scarce now. This is also not the first time someone radical happened to upend an aspect of the Neo economy, it happens all the time. Haunted Woods Stamp was just re-released. People spend years trading up to a goal pet only for replicas and the NC UC announcement to suddenly make that effort feel like a waste. Or people trade UCs for draiks only for the Forgotten Shore to be released and the value of draiks goes subterranean. Shit happens, you know? Sometimes you benefit, sometimes you lose out.

Outside of the unfortunate luck of having just traded for one of these items, the only legit complaint I can think of is that if you were stocking up on one of these items to try and trade for an even larger wish, the value of your offer just went down a lot and set you back. That sucks. I guess the hope then is the item you're after eventually gets a release of its own as well.

I also have cautious optimism that the DW polls aren't going to suddenly get flooded with stuff like fish shield and bag of faeries. I'd like to think most players still prefer DWs of items they actually like instead of stuff that is only desirable for being rare.

I'm a hardcore NCCer (as cringe as that sounds) and I think this idea is fine! We've had popular items be RR'd even without a Dyeworks option - the Cupcake Curtains fiasco springs to mind. It always made no sense to me why they didn't release the items that were Dyeworked, because how else were you expected to get them?

I doubt it's going to tank the value too wildly. Popular items are popular because they look nice, and more people having them doesn't guarantee that they'll trade them - who knows? They may hoard them.

I also find it interesting that a few of these popular items were re-dyes (Playful Tousled Wig, Holiday Lights Contacts). I think that makes even more sense for an RR - like, you're going to price people out TWO times?

I'm sure it also ties into their NC Gift of Giving thing - entice people to spend more so they get more cash back.

Anyway, they only RR'd one that I didn't have. I wish they'd have RR'd the mainstay Dyeworks items too, though - would have been nice to get Shimmery Rose Top!
